Zergotech brings us a new take on the ergonomic keyboard with the Zergotech Freedom all the way from down under! With multiple design awards in tow, we take a close look both inside and out at what makes this split mechanical keyboard a very attractive typing experience.

Looks like a great full-ergo keyboard for those willing to make the permanent switch and willing to relearn a layout but probably too extreme for most people in its deviation from the standard layout. I use lots of keyboards in various locations and on various devices and even if I only had to have two keyboards I'd want them both to be the same layout.

Given the low-volume of sales for this niche market of non-standard keyboard layout, coupled with the keyswitches and sliding palmrest, I don't think it's unreasonably priced. I'm just confused why there's only standard layouts, and full-send layouts. Why does nobody want to make something semi-ergo, but fully usable as a 99% standard layout like the old MSNKE with a modern USB or Wireless interface and some proper mechanical keys?

300+ dollars for it? Just get a ergodox instead.

This is really prohibitively expensive.

But neat design. At half price I would certainly consider one.... and not half of it :D

I hope you meant you pulled it from your ass, because as an Australian I find that phrase derogatory.

I personally like what Elecom did here for a design, but they need low profile key caps like the Cherry Stream below it and optical based Blooyd LK Brown switches would be really ideal. That along with a polling rate that isn't a joke on the trackball.
