Lian Li aims to one-up the RGB fan market with a highly modular, uniquely clean multi-fan setup in the new UNI FAN SL INFINITY 120 series. Featuring the best of its SL and AL fans, these use 40 LEDs per fan for an attractive infinity mirror look, combined with software control over fan curves for decent performance-to-noise balance, too.

Is this type of multi-fan connectivity available in non-RGB from Li Lian or others?

$30 for a square box with lights... and as a bonus you get a set of blades attached to it to work as a fan.

Lian Li produced AL120, but never had 140mm version.

Correct me if I'm wrong but this fan I don't they they will produce a 140mm, and this is a big Con for those looking to build with both 120 and 140mm.

Many people bought AL120, hoping to get some AL140 afterwards when it releases, but it never happened.

This does seem to be taking the best of both SL120 and AL120 with the new connector and software updates, so maybe they might actually keep this platform going for a while. Maybe.

oh dear oh dear... are you suggesting all this time you've been using a square box without blades :( What do you do to cool your PC.... huff and puff and blow air through the hole lol I gotto give it to you though... thats some next level of multi-tasking whilst computing

If they are using the same bearings as the previous SL fans and same heavy blade design these things are going to suck for longevity if placed in a horizontal position with plates facing down. I had bought 6 with 3 of them failing within 3 months about a year ago. All of them horizontal position that failed. Had a few friends have the same failures, same orientation as well. Replaced all of them with Phantek T30s and haven't regretted it one bit.

Looks sleek but like all RGB fans... performance is pretty bad.

Not a fan :ohwell:

I wish they'd go back to making their old style ALU cases. I've about had it with tempered glass and RGB.

Lian-Li cases are fantastic, but L-Connect is by it self such a bad piece of software you'd be thinking they're trying to sabotage themselves. I have several friends that quit Lian-Li fans just because of L-Connect. Also, that beautiful round mirror won't be visible in most cases as typically bottom and vertical rows are intakes.

I want to see a 140, 200, 230 version from them

@VSG Techpowerup advertised the Antec Storm 120 fan recently, it just came out apparently, and it gets close to 67 CFM and only costs $30 for a 3 pack...

Just wondering if we could get some tests on that one...

for reference here is the news thread for it:

Maybe once my backlog is more manageable, right now there are so many pending review items already :(

If these would come in 140, I'd use them mostly as decorative exhaust and push fans while the real power is the fans covered up by the front grill mesh and the pull-fans behind the radiator up top. Mostly because my fittings are silver and black and these would be a great accent without any RGB, or the occasional soft RGB when I'm in the mood for some lighting from my case.

@VSG isn't the connector micro-USB? Mini-USB is larger.

I really hope there will be fans with same cluster capabilities as these, but with good radiator performance and no useless RGB, or at least the option to choose.

at $30 and $100, and no 140mm, I'll pass.

Pretty is one thing, functionality is more important. You're paying for the prettiness here, nothing else.

I don't understand why this needs to exist when we have non-proprietary daisy-chained fans from other manufacturers.

what are your thoughts on these fans? no RGB, no frills, but it gets 66 CFM at 2000 rpm for only $10 a fan, and longer fan blades due to intuitive design at 120mm

about $5-6 cheaper than a Noctua fan and seems pretty good for a 120mm considering the price, good fans are usually just too damn expensive so I pass on them. it looks neat to boot. really wish there was some reviews on it though.

a bit off topic, but... $10 for a fan that will give you at least a years worth of usage is good (90% guarantee?). Do you notice the Antec PR doesnt mention actual noise levels?

120mmm fans tend to be louder at higher RPM vs 140mm. The bearing type is a huge factor in noise and lifetime. The number of fan blades and their shape contribute to CFP(M), while space between fan blades and frame matter for static pressure(SP). Lastly, it depends how you want to use them. You would want to use SP behind a filter, and non-SP when not.

For that reason i stick with Noctua (Chromax).

Same price, better motors and better sound profile.

Lack of RGB though, which is the whole point of these fans, not their performance. For me I just stick good looking RGB fans in my builds, set the RPM's to the minimum and go, since most of my builds have oversized coolers so casefans are nothing but decorative.

If anything, I'd personally only put performance-oriented fans in tight and small itx builds or if it fits the looks.

I'll stick to Non-RGB, looks just as good and not districting.
