Hi, I have hp Pavillion Slimline S5-1204, ,Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) CPU G630 @ 2.70GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz,Memory: 8192MB RAM, Available OS Memory: 8096MB RAM.
Display device specs: Intel(R) HD Graphics,Display Memory: 1664 MB,Dedicated Memory: 32 MB,Current Mode: 1600 x 900 (32 bit) (60Hz),Monitor Name: HP LE2001w Wide LCD Monitor,Native Mode: 1600 x 900(p) (60.000Hz),Driver Model: WDDM 1.2. This monitor is connected through vga to vga cable.

Now i am trying to install 2nd monitor with DVI to VGA adapter. 2nd monitor is Dell make model SE198WFPv but my pc is not detecting it. Dell monitor work individually with this PC but not when installed along with 1st hp monitor through DVI to VGA adapter. Please advise.

HP stated on their website that: "Use of both the DVI and the VGA ports at the same time is supported."

So try another adapter, or DVI to DVI cable.

Is it DVI-i or DVI-d?

it is dvi-d dual link, got it from ebay

yeh thanks, I checked it too and it says the same. got my dvi-d to vga from ebay. Not sure how to check if adapter is not good

Not all DVI-d converters work, unless you bought a powered adapter which should work.

What is the model number of the HP monitor, what ports does it have?

Your PC and Dell SE198WFPv both have DVI... just use DVI to DVI cable.
ok. I was thinking dvi d to vga adapter was enough but looks like i hv to hv dvi to dvi cable
