Angelbird Technologies GmbH enters the CFexpress Type A market with a single 1 TB card and matching accessories. Angelbird introduces a single 1 TB sized CFexpress Type A card engineered for use with Sony Alpha and FX camera lines. The AV PRO CFexpress Type A | 1 TB is the highest available capacity CFexpress Type A media on the market. With Sustained Write performance of 650 MB/s, the card provides critical speed and performance necessary for lengthy, high-data rate video recording, stills and burst photography in up to 4K+ RAW.

To achieve the maximum potential from the CFexpress Type A card format, Angelbird engineers leaned into their extensive experience innovating custom camera-specific media solutions for industry-leading camera manufacturers. That experience laid the foundation to begin the engineering process with expertise and laser focus on the Sony Alpha and FX lines of CFexpress Type A cameras. For this endeavor, Angelbird designed a custom-built SiP (System in Package) circuit configuration, which, combined with other factors, paved the way for the highest capacity CFexpress Type A card to date- a card to support the extensive cinematic work being captured by Sony shooters.

"From the very beginning of the product concept, it was clear that we needed to expand on existing technology. As we looked to engineer the best CFexpress Type A media card, a standard capacity of 512 GB was a good start, but it was not going to be enough for the type of work our customers create. We absolutely needed a 1 TB card option," said Roman Rabitsch, Founder and CEO of Angelbird Technologies GmbH.

With Sustained Write Speed of 650 MB/s, the AV PRO CFexpress Type A card can achieve and sustain the high recording speeds necessary to support all available features and settings across Sony's range of CFexpress type A cameras, from the Sony α1, Sony α7 IV, Sony α7S III, Sony FX3, to the Sony FX6. The 1 TB capacity virtually eliminates space constraints in creative production. This allows for the capture of extensive visual data in up to 16-bit and benefiting a wider range of post-production editing options.

The AV PRO CFexpress Type A card with Max. Write Speed up to 730 MB/s offers a superior speed and performance advantage vs. an SD card. The impressive speed presents a clear advantage over SD card formats for buffer-free, high-data rate production in both high-resolution video and burst photography. While several Sony cameras feature a unique dual card set-up that is compatible with both CFexpress Type A and UHS II SD cards, someone who shoots in 4K resolution with intra-frame compressions would require a CFexpress Type A card to take full advantage of Sony's "Slow and Quick" modes for optimized playback and the impressive 1200 Mbps recording available in some settings.

Featuring Stable Stream Sustained Speed Performance technology, the AV PRO CFexpress Type A supports steady and consistent read/write speeds throughout the entire capacity of the card. Engineered with a custom SiP enclosed system of circuits, the technology is stacked in a way that speeds up chip communication while reducing the amount of power needed to drive the signals—resulting in a high-performance media card with minimal power demand from the host camera.

Angelbird's CFexpress Type A | 1 TB card is built tough to withstand operation in extreme production environments with temperatures ranging from -10 °C to 70 °C and features a Sticker Free card surface. Additional rock-solid benefits include a 3-year limited warranty on hard- and software levels and free in-house data recovery service.

Perform firmware updates directly on the AV PRO CFexpress Type A card to maintain ongoing camera compatibility, optimal performance, and full feature set. Angelbird's exclusive Firmware Update Tool is supported by the Angelbird CFexpress Type A Card Reader. While the AV PRO CFexpress Type A card is compatible with other card readers available on the market, the ability to perform an "Over the Top" firmware update is limited to the communication synergy between Angelbird cards and Angelbird readers.

"Having a card that is 'up to date' is a key feature to maintaining camera compatibility. In the past, such updates might have resulted in the release of a new card edition, now we can pass firmware updates and new features directly to the card through the card reader," said R. Rabitsch.

The new Angelbird CFexpress Type A Card Reader features a recessed USB-C Solid Connect connection logic that supports fast processing of data-rich files with transfer speeds of up to 20 Gb/s, along with a write-protect switch for additional data safety.

Media Tank memory card case safely stores and transports up to four CFexpress Type A cards at a time. The compact, lightweight design offers hard-shell durability and security for on-the-go creative production. Precision-cut foam inserts securely grip and cushion the media cards for impact protection and a rattle-proof interior. It's durability-tested
Lock-Solid locking mechanism confidently holds the case shut while double ring loops offer added security and convenience for pad locks and carabiners. Angelbird also offers a Free Engraving service to customize the case with personal contact info or logos.

The extended benefit of Angelbird's renowned individualized customer service with free in-house data recovery service on hard- and software levels for Angelbird products activated via Angelbird website within 30 days of purchase.
