looks relatively thin to me. probably 1mm. goes without saying the higher thermal conductivity the better 12.8 w/mk

I don't have the card in hand yet. My first used gpu ever and of course I'm going to go through it completely. I'll test it before opening it up...was just curious as to what brands of thermal pads have shown the greatest success. Gelid appears to have the edge in my research thus far.

which one?
for the chip i prefer paste, for vram etc, i did use thermal glue, and never have to worry about doing it again..

I've also considered the "copper mod" which seems to work very well for these cards. I often wondered why folks didn't just seal the surrounding areas with nail polish or something similar instead of using tape to prevent shorts.

I have a 3070Ti FTW3 Ultra and it has been running since the pandemic with its original TIM and pads. As long as you move a little air over it, it should be ok still I would think.. but I could be wrong.
