HyperX, now an HP brand, made a big splash this 2024 CES, with the new Alloy Rise 75, and some groovy keysets. The Alloy Rise 75 is a slick 75% keyboard with various key switch options, a programmable rotary dial, and pudding keycaps. The company also showed off top-plate accessories for the full-sized Alloy Rise keyboard. They pudding keycaps on these are easy to replace with one of many new keysets and panel kits HyperX brought out this year.

A panel kit consists of keycaps, headset body mounts along the headphone cans; and additional mounts along the headband. Among the panel kits we spied were Valkyrie—the one with the angelic wings on the headset panel; Mythical—the one with the orc ears and teeth; Werewolf—the one with the claws; and Something (literally that), but a mix of elements such as mushrooms and dragon claws.

An interesting aspect about the Alloy Rise series of keyboards is their user-replaceable key switches, which allows you to swap between linear and tactile key switch sets. The Linear Switch category would broadly match "Red" keys, while the Tactile ones match "Blue." Don't want to deal with the hassle of a whole keycap replacement? Check out badge packs, which simply let you stick a themed badge on top of your existing keycaps. These should work particularly well with pudding sets.

Also next to the Alloy Rise 75 is the new Pulsefire Haste Mini 2, a new generation lightweight low-latency wireless mouse, which incorporates several design improvements over the original, an upgraded 26,000 dpi HyperX sensor, 650 IPS speed, and true 1000 Hz polling rate. Its 370 mAh battery can provide up to a 100 hours of gameplay on a full charge, With its RF dongle docked in, the mouse weighs about 57 g (should be approximately 51 g without it).

The HyperX Cloud Mini is a whole new line of gaming headsets being introduced this year. These are targeted at some of the younger gamers that might not want a full-sized HyperX Cloud III; although by no means are these on-ear headphones—they appear to have an around-ear cushioning, albeit they look about the size of on-ears. The mics are held on flexible (non retractable) stocks. The Cloud Mini supports both 3.5 mm analog and Bluetooth wireless; although since they're targeted at younger users, they have volume limited to 85 dB. There are five color trims to choose from—again which might appeal to a younger audience.

Winding things up is the HyperX Clutch Tanto Mini, a compact wired controller, which like the Cloud Mini, is targeted at younger gamers. It isn't bulked up like the larger Clutch, but has a compact, rounded body, with a standard Xbox layout.

Took them a while to make a 70% (75 keys) keyboard. Their Aqua switches are good alternatives to Cherry MX Browns.

That Clutch Tanto Mini looks cute for an Xbox wired controller. Sadly, they couldn't make it wireless due to Microsoft's proprietary wireless licensing.
