Alphacool confirms the first cooling blocks that are compatible with the new RTX 4070 (TI) SUPER models. Thanks to the particularly filigree fin structure, the cooling surface has been enlarged and a very good water flow has been achieved. The jet plate with revised inflow distributes the water perfectly over the cooling fins. This means that the enormous waste heat from the new generation of graphics cards is dissipated excellently with the cooler. The full-surface chrome plating of the copper base not only offers resistant protection against acids, scratches and damage, but also achieves a beautiful homogeneity and a striking shine.

In addition to the technical improvements, the Eisblock has been given a facelift: The Aurora design is kept visually calm and simple, as only one O-ring runs around the entire cooler. The design of the cooling fins and the jetplate also ensures a clean look. Thanks to the chrome plating, the illumination using digitally addressable RGB LEDs spreads evenly throughout the cooler.

Confirmed compatibility:
  • RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition
  • RTX 4070 Super TUF
  • RTX 4070 Ti Super Ventus
  • RTX 4070 Ti Super TUF
  • RTX 4070 Ti Super Gaming
  • RTX 4070 Ti Super Strix
Features:
  • Chrome-plated copper cooler base
  • Enlarged cooling surface due to adapted fin structure
  • Optimum distribution of water in the cooler thanks to modified jetplate
  • Brilliant aRGB LED lighting
  • RTX 4070 Super Founders Edition: Compatible with Eisblock Aurora Acrylic RTX 4070TI Reference
  • RTX 4070 Super TUF: Compatible with Eisblock Aurora Geforce RTX 4070 TI TUF Gaming
  • RTX 4070 TI Super Ventus: Compatible with Eisblock Aurora RTX 4070TI Ventus

Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Gaming OC 16G is compatible with 4070 Ti Eagle 12GB as well. added the missing 4GB in 4070 Ti.

The small one on the right is 4070 Super FE 12GB only. the gigabyte 16GB is only slightly bigger.

Why is ASUS making such a humongous PCBs. double the size the materials.

They are likely reusing the board from their RTX 4080 designs. Given the sheer size of their cards (especially the ROG Strix which is significantly longer than an E-ATX motherboard), reducing the PCB size makes no sense as the 4070 Ti SUPER is essentially just a really low-grade AD103 processor and at a technical level, its implementation is the same of any other 4080 or 4080 SUPER card. The only thing that changes is the GPU core itself.

@Dr. Dro : Nope. In Theory, 4070Ti Super could use 4080-PCBs, but since AD103 and AD104 are pin-to-pin compatible and all 4070-PCBs were designed for 8 VRAM ICs as well, all 4070Ti Super seem to use the same PCB as 4070Ti and all 4070S seem to use the same PCB as 4070, with slight modifications for 12VHPWR.

Asus shows the PCBs of graphic cards on their homepage. They all follow the same principle, but the amount of components, size and location of headers differ greatly

4070Ti Super Strix and 4070Ti Strix use the same PCB:

4080 Strix and TUF differ greatly:

4070S Strix and 4070 Strix have less components:

4070Ti Super TUF and 4070Ti TUF have the same amount of components like the Strix-variants of the lesser GPUs, but a smaller pcb and different headers:

4070S TUF and 4070 TUF use the same PCB as 4070Ti (Super) TUF, but with less components installed and in case of 4070 TUF with 1x8-Pin instead of 12VHPWR:

Strix are very highend modells with powerful PCB, which imho, in case of 4070, is overkill because a cheaper 4070S will serve you better than an expensive 4070.

99,9% of 4070Ti Super should be able to use the samme water cooler as 4070Ti. Same with 4080 and 4080S. To a lesser extent, some 4070S and 4070 should be compatible with 4070Ti-coolers.

That's interesting, since the 4070 Ti has only 6 memory chips, I figured that the waterblocks were designed around that instead. Makes sense now, I guess it could go either way then. Nice about AD104 and 103 being pin compatible, I didn't know about this little detail :)

NV makes it that way at least since Pascal, so that low quality charges of the bigger chips can be used instead of smaller chips at the end of their lifecycle.
