Intel over the weekend released the latest version of the Arc GPU Graphics Drivers. Version 101.5382 WHQL builds incrementally on the 101.5379 Beta from a week prior. It doesn't include any game-specific optimization, but is WHQL-signed, and fixes a couple of issues along the way. To begin with, an issue that caused "Horizon Forbidden West" to show higher than expected game load times has been fixed. Also fixed is an application hang during loading of the 3DMark Speedway benchmark. "Starfield" experiencing a game crash with High or Ultra graphics settings has been fixed. Grab the drivers from the link below.

Wow, that driver fixed the high consumption in idle and video playback.

Not likely a changes that would move the needle forward on sales. You're also assuming that drivers/firmware can even address idle power usage. I don't believe Ram clock speeds are changeable and always running Ram full out is likely much of the idle power consumption issues.

If it wasn´t April 1st and that post of mine was the reality i would buy an ARC card tomorrow, i mean it.

Not entirely the same thing, but I have been having issues trying to update the U770 intergrated gpu driver...keeps giving errors making me have to install an even older driver then I was running to begin with.

And its that sorta janky stuff im experiencing right now that makes me still a bit weary of trying an intel gpu.

Mine does pull more power idle then my old Nvidia 1070 but not hugely so. It would be nice if they would address this and seems crazy that they would hard lock the Ram speeds but I have never read anything to the contrary.

Windows update does this on my meteor lake laptop. In my case it’s the ASUS branded driver, but it is annoying it lags behind.

WU races it to get installed even if I managed I have until it checks again before it will downgrade.

on my normal desktop machines (not branded laptops or mini PCs) it all works as it should.
