Meze Audio releases its most affordable IEMs to date with the single dynamic driver Alba. It uses small shells ensuring a good fit and great comfort in the ears, and adds to the pleasant user experience with a fairly universally-appealing warm, U-shaped sound with a punchy bass and controlled treble while giving vocals and instruments their time in the spotlight too.

My Sennheiser IE 200 didn't survive a meeting with a closing car door, a few weeks ago, so been looking for a new - so just ordered the Alba :)
 
Just realized the order is not in US dollar but Euro....well okay, not that bad after all

I just don't really see any real reason to spend a huge amount of cash on expensive iems when you can buy the 7hz Salnotes Zero exist for $20. I paired mine with a $29 Fiio KA11 USB c dac/amp for my mobile use. Quite a formidable pairing.
But, as always a great review. Thanks.

Fair enough, I don't know the 7hz Salnotes Zero, but I have had my fair amount of cheap iem's, and my hearing tells me otherwise. I will hear, when the Alba's arrive. And on a side node, the Alba's seems fair prized, imo.

I would assume the quality of the materials used, the QC and the included accessories are better on the Alba (maybe tuning and sound, but that may be subjective) and for that, the price is higher.

Also, some trivia: in Romanian, Alba means “white”, it also may translate to "pure" or "clear / clarity" and it's also a name of a city with some history for the Romanians.

I'm not judging you in any way, shape or form. I am just a little bitter about spending too much on high tech only to find that resale value plummets after just a few weeks of use when the next versions come out. I do own a set of Meze 99 Neo headphones. These are pretty good once you apply a parametric IQ.
Anyhow, I hope you enjoy your new iem's.
 
Got them today and listen to the Cure's latest album (Songs from a lost world) through a Chord mojo 2. This album has very long instrumental beginnings of each song. The Alba's does a very good job in giving a very detailed reproduction of the instruments.

Glad you ended up liking these, now just stop looking at any new releases and be happy with the Alba :laugh:

On a side note, and I think I have asked before, but would Chord not have the Mojo 2 reviewed by TPU, or does they not send out review samles at all? If they don't, thats a big mistanke from their side, imo. That is one of the better portable DAC/AMP out there.
