F.E.A.R. Platinum—featuring the base game and both expansions—will be available as part of the GOG Preservation Program by next month. Originally scheduled for a later timeframe, we've decided to accelerate this release to properly recognize Monolith's contributions to gaming.

At GOG, we believe in celebrating the creative minds that have shaped gaming history. Monolith Productions has given players some of the most unforgettable experiences, blending groundbreaking gameplay with rich storytelling. To honor their legacy, we're proud to announce that F.E.A.R. Platinum will be joining the GOG Preservation Program—and sooner than planned, with other Monolith icons to join eventually as well. And this is just the beginning. Stay tuned; we have even more news to share about the GOG Preservation Program!

F.E.A.R. Platinum includes the original F.E.A.R. and its two add-ons: F.E.A.R. Extraction Point and F.E.A.R. Perseus Mandate
Be the hero in your own cinematic epic of action, tension and terror. A mysterious paramilitary force infiltrates a multi-billion dollar aerospace compound, taking hostages but issuing no demands. The government responds by sending in a Special Forces team only to have them obliterated. Live footage of the massacre shows an inexplicable wave of destruction tearing the soldiers apart.

With no other recourse, the elite F.E.A.R. (First Encounter Assault Recon) team is assembled to deal with the extraordinary circumstances. They are given one simple mission: Evaluate the threat and eliminate the intruders at any cost.

TechPowerUp editor's note: Warner Bros. has confirmed the closure of Monolith Productions and two other first-party studios.

A little odd to include the expansions since Monolith had nothing to do with them; those were developed by TimeGate, the studio responsible for the much-maligned Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Gameplay and art direction in my opinion after the 1st one was terrible, as much i enjoyed the 1st i am not interested.

RIP Monolith.

Hopefully the talent there is picked up by more competent management/capital.

Only F3AR was good, and is.

This was the first game I played when I built my first PC. Gameplay and story were good. The add-ons weren't bad either.

Then came 2. The storyline made no sense. I didn't play 3 due to 2 being that bad.

Imho at least the first expansion was nice as well. Second went too far in the kookoo department.

The talent that made FEAR 1 is long gone.

But middle earth: sow people are still there - that game is awesome.
