I'm really not sure what sub forum this belongs in so that's why i put it here. But i just ordered a 3D printer the other day as it really peaked my interest. Does anyone here 3D print or have a 3D printer. What software do you use to design ? I'm really new to thia so not much of any experience in the area.

Have 2 Ender 3's, using Cura for printing and Fusion 360/Solidworks for 3d design.
CNC kitchen is good channel for info;

Anet A8 owner here. I use Repetier-Host with Slic3r for slicing and printing. I get most of my STLs from Thingiverse.

For CAD, I just use Sketchup. It's really easy to figure out.

Also yes, please join the 3D printing club. I have to say; it's been real lonely over there... Feels like I'm the only one who posts in that thread.

I'm happy to divulge more 3D printing info as I have received some professional training and a college certification relating to it.

I have had a Monoprice Maker Select for about 2 years now...Or close. I use Mattercontrol for simple prints and quick mods and Fusion 360 for more advanced stuff. The most important software though for me is THingiverse. Here you can find thousands of already created "things" and build off them, improve them. I'm all for not reinventing the wheel if it suits my needs.

I have been contemplating getting a dual-head system that can print above 250mm but I don't want to spend that much on it...prices will come down though.

From now I'll post in the club
