I was wondering just how you would go about V'modding a XFX 7950GT, all of the tutorials that i have found are for the 7900GT but my 7900GT has a different reference board on it and its driving me CRAZY:banghead:

has anyone modded a XFX 7950 before

hey

is that the agp model

an if it is i would say dont do it unless u get a better cooler

cus i know the stock 7950 agp heat sink is garbeg litraly [i know i have one an the cooler [blows an not in a good way lol]

fast enuf card thow

You actually probably dont need to voltmod the card. My friend had one, many 7950GT's have a higher voltage option in the BIOS but the BIOS usually is set to 1.35 or 1.4V, it is possible on many makes to do a simple BIOS mod to 1.5V (1.5V is actually on tap for most cards, they are just BIOS limited) and then flash the card with the increased voltage settings.

Are you sufficiently experienced enough to mod a BIOS or at least dump yours and analyse it with Nibitor? If not, you can dump it in ATI tool and upload it here and I would be happy to take a look at it for you, it may save you a soldering job!

its the active cooled 550m model, and yes its agp, i can only get to 630 from stock without having artifacting, im going to upload the bios tommorow but im used to getting vga bios's in dos so ati tool might not be so bad
