Ok, I've decided that I'm going to buy the i7-2600k and the Asus p8p67 mobo... However, I'm rather confused... Intel says that the sandy bridge chipsets do not support 1600mhz ram, yet on other forums, people say they're running 1600mhz with an i7-2600k?

So, my question to you is... Do I buy 8gb of mushkin redline at 1600mhz, or get some slower, 1333mhz ram?

You can run 1600Mhz no problem. I am runing the corsair vengence kit at 1600mhz. You should look at something that is 1.5v though.

Thanks. It's either going to be some dominator, vengeance or mushkin redline.

I'd personally go with Mushkin... I've had Dominators and my Mushkin Blacklines OC sooo much better... Just my two cents..

this opinion is based off my x58 system tho..

Not sure what cpu cooler your using but be careful with the vengeance the heatsinks fins are huge.

I'm running my 1600MHz Gskill Ripjaws@1.6v with an i5 2500k overclocked. Not one issue, and I have even managed to tighten the timings as well. You will love the tremendous bandwidth you get with this memory subsystem.

Let us know when you get your chip and how it goes with overclocking.
