If you do not Live in The United States This Post is Only as Half as Useful as it is to the Folks Living within the united States.

If you Live in the United States by now you have heard about Hulu desktop, TV streamed over the Internet right to your Desktop (and now Media center).
It's available for all platforms Here. http://www.hulu.com/labs/hulu-desktop
(this is for Win7)

As I understand it will become a pay service soon and will likely make this post somewhat useless.

For now it does not Come with a Media Center Plug in, which can be Annoying for HTPC users but with a few simple clicks you can add Hulu Desktop to your Windows Media Center Extras Program Library or any program you would like such as Games.

Before you begin Make sure you have access to HIDDEN FOLDERS

1) Install HuluDesktop-Let it install a shortcut on your desktop

2) In the start menu click "Computer" double click "Program Data" double click "Media Center Programs"

3) Then "Drag" "HuluDesktop Shortcut" over to "Media Center Programs" and "drop" it

That's it your DONE when you go into Windows Media Center you will Find the HuluDesktop in your Extras> Extra Program Libraries

Now you can do this with any Application, but it is very useful if you want simple "Remote Control" access to Hulu Without leaving Media center.

When exiting HuluDesktop with your remote simply press the Close program Button then your "Media Center" Button to Return to Media Center.

If you have Media Center set to "Media Only" when you exit HuluDesktop you will automatically return to Media center. (recommended for HTPC's)

BUMP! Stumbled on this through your siggy link. Good help here!

I keep meaning to update this post how to do this in Vista which requires a download or 2
Here is one of them http://chaddyess.com/2009-01/media-center-launcher-configurator/
I'm waiting for an RMA for the only pc in the house still using Vista It should ship back no later than This Thursday which means I'll get it the Thursday after that...

There are also a few other ways to do this with someones completed work with a simple Note Pad Edit But I really don't want to post that since the real way is just as simple

couple of question
1. the plug in was finally released from hulu but seems to be pretty buggy at best, any words on that?
2. when you start hulu your way will it run in media center or minimize/ shutdown media center and start the hulu desktop?

Not sure about the plugin..there are a few done by 3rd parties that work just fine..
If your in Media only mode it will always go back to Media Center..
A few weeks ago after the Hulu update I noticed you had to re-enter Media Center after closing..
I'll see what I can do without using Media Center configurator info on that can be found here http://www.hack7mc.com/2009/01/media-center-launcher-configurator.html but it's not for novice users but is actually quite simple to use..You had no other choice if you wanted to add something to MCE 2005 and Vista's MCE

EDIT I have to update this thread MS has changed some things around and a new way needs to be worked out
