AGP to PCI-E Converter

hey guys, i have a AGP Ati Radeon 9600, is there any way to convert it to PCI-E? I was hoping on purchasing a new motherboard with PCI-E support, however i cant afford a new Graphics card.

in theory there is a way because there are bridge chips out there which are used on some video cards .. but i havent ever heard of an adapter thing

I can't picture one being made. It would be kind of odd, and wouldn't exactly be able to mount onto the case properly. My friend said he would invent one, then again he's a moron.

there are some boards with both agp and pci-e 16 slots, though those agp slots arent reliable, they claim they could damage your card over time.

If you check the news on this site though, ULI made a chipset that supports both AGP 8× and PCI-e 16. If you wait you could get such a board and upgrade your videocard whenever you please.

There's currently a Biostar NF4UL-A9 mobo, which has AGP and PCI-E slots on it, and it's based on nFORCE4 Ultra chipset.

The current hybrids claim they may damage your AGP card and it's not recommended to use them. That's what i read about them at least.
