agp4 problem

I wonder that anyone can help me with this issue.I have a matsonic MS7177CT MB (max.AGP4) with a Rad.9200 card.The card support AGP4 the MB also but when I set from BIOS the AGP driving value to 4 the system start,is loading the OS and than I see a screen full with lines.
The Smartgart from the card show me that I have max.AGP2 ?.I have tryed and unninstalled it
no changes,also I installed the latest VIA drivers.The Sandra 2004 also show me that the AGP4 value is recognized.
I know that the best solution is to change this MB I want it but when I OC all the results was over my expectation,all is stable and allowed me to play all games even the DOOM3 was running ok so untill all crashe I won't change nothing.

Sometimes you have to set the jumpers on the card to force it onto agp 4x im not sure about your card but that may help, consult the video card manual.

Maybe your motherboard needs a newer biso revision to operate properly at agp 4x?

have checked the card no jumper for AGP only for pal-ntsc selection

the BIOS was flashed with the latest form manufacturer site

i have no ideeas anymore

Try cleaning the cards connectors with rubbing alchohol and qtips, and dust out the agp socket. Probably wont work but its the only thing I can think of now. Usually when there is a bad connection you wont get any picture at all.

have tryed this,i don't get picture (only a striped screen which i can compare with a screen forced to run on a non-supported resolution) when i set from bios the agp4

probably your card is not fully compatible with mobo, check the maufacter list

i have checked on ati site and i don't found any list with compatible MB
also i think that must be the probl.because in devce manager-system sett-acpi cpu to agp contr...
when i set this PCI to PCI the card recognize the MB with AGP 4 but is using 0

Drexy you have also 9200 OC did you know the max freq.without burning the card ?
i'm using now 300/250 (only at 3D appl) with a fan applied

Well it should be set to CPU to AGP Controller as that is the proper interface but as for why its not working could try updating Chipset Drivers and see if that helps

new bios ruined my 4x AGP support

Hi

I have exactly the same problem, the same motherboard and graphic card. After updating my previous ver. of BIOS (01.10.02, which was fine) with 030611.bin in good faith, that I will gain some performance my winxp didn`t won`t to start.After some panic that i have ruined my PC I realized that, if I disable 4x AGP support my xp start normally for the cost of 4x AGP support(now only 2x). I rally don`t know what can i do. I downloaded this file from Matsonic.com.Is it possible that the file is corrupted somehow or is it just a bad written BIOS.If enyone finds a solution for this or tell me where can i get a previous ver.of BIOS please tell on forum. I have made a copy of previous BIOS, but It won`t overwrite this new one.

i also updated my bios but before this i had the same pro.
i ask Matsonic but no answer untill now and i'm they don't fuck.... care about this
probably the card someway isn't fully compatible with the board
is interesting when i disable the cpu to agp controler and i put cpu to pci instead the video card
recognize that i have agp 4 but of course the card in this case is disabled
if you find out something new posted

my card is se and this gpu can't get more speed without artifacts.
mem is not fixed, but i get 230 with no cooling and it's max, some people have get
the 280 (active cooling), but no garanties.
my mem is elixir(nanya) 5ns.
you will rise the performance much more by rising mem fr.
gpu it's ok but mem give it the boost.

I have the same problem i had considered flashing back to the old bios but am unable to get a copy from anywhere has anyone else tryed reflashing the bios back to ther older version

have tryed but the pc don't started so reflash with the new one ;when i received the old BIOS I didn't know if is corrupted or not all i know that is not good ;if you want you can try also i attache this BIOS but I suggest you to prepare in time a floppy with the latest...
