ok heres whats happening i have a radeon all in wonder 9600 128 mb ddr ram
its default clocks r (gpu RV350) 324 / (mem ddr 128 mb sam 4.0) 195.75
i have already run atitool found max core from gpu at 460 and mem at 260
i have installed an old intel p4 fan i had from my old p4 1.7Ghz and
set the clocks on the 9600 to 450/250 and played Doom 3,call of duty 1 and 2 for an hour or so each with no prob.i had been running the card with the softmod.wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-111-050222a-021277c drivers with no problem ....... hehe so hear it comes.i wanted more lol.i wanted my cake and wanted to eat it to.i read you could flash your bois with the clocks you wanted and still use the ATI Drivers you can download from there site.So i uninstalled the modded drivers and reinstalled the ati software that came with my AIW 9600 on the install CD.

i decided to do a flash from dos with the floppy boot i also got from the bois collection
the flash goes fine but once i boot into my O/S it can no longer see the All In Wonder 9600
but ati tool shows the default clocks for the card to be right.if i do a dos bios recovery to the bois that came with the card and reboot into windows like magic it can see the aiw 9600 clock rest to defaults ofcourse

so anyone know why this is happening cos i would love to fix the problem and flash this card right.

thanks again and keep ya head up!

I don't know about any of the other guys but I've found that sometimes when changing certain things in the VGA BIOS, Windows doesn't want to recognize it anymore. I tried everything but it would always look like something's out of sync when I go into Windows. BUT, I reformatted my drive and once I reinstalled Windows it actually worked. I'm not telling you to format, coz maybe it's only my setup that worked, but you can consider it? ;)

What did you Flash it with(last time I checked there were no 9600AIW Bios's)I know from experience cuz I have the identical card in my wifes computer. Now I had played around with flashing it and came some conclusions some 9600 BIOS's dont work(Gecube if I recall was a good one that did)BUT its not an All in Wonder anymore. Now the part I dont remember was if just editing the clocks in the existing BIOS worked. Is that what your doing?
I remember having the same issues when I was using the AIW in my machine(moral of my story is I have moved to Europe from NA and the AIW bit is pretty much useless)
Now if ya need any info feel free to ask

ok heres the bios i flased my 9600 with
ATI 9600 AIW 128 MB Dec 3rd 2003 12:43 PM Mar 19th 2005 10:43 AM 324 / 195.75
Samsung 4.0
got the bootdisk flash from http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/
but i took out my aiw and checked the ram on it it wasnt the samsung 4.0
my cards ram is HYNIX 413a HY5DU821622et-4 so thats prob why windows doesnt see the flash
so what i did was dump my bios and sent it to w1zzard to put on the bios page i can wait ;-)
then ill just set the clocks where i want them and download a bootable flash from the bios page.
ive cheched and the max core rating for that ram is 250 mhz thats what ive found when i googled anyway

well heres how i kinda did want i wanted to do ;)
i installed the Omega driver rad_w2kxp_omega_2612 for my radeon and then
i dumped my 9600 aiw bios with ATItool
i used RaBiT-1.5 to set the clocks in the bios i dumped from my card
to 405.25 / 243.00 then i saved it as bios.bin and copied it to the bootdisk i downloaded
from http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/ i rebooted and flashed the bios to the new clocks
and woohoo now i have the clocks set and windows can see my card
ive included some shots to show the new defaults ;)

thx for giving me a place to type it out till i got it working how i wanted
and thx for the advice and emails back about this
