AMD Catalyst 15.7 Error

Hi guys,

I got this error when installing the new catalyst software. I made clean install using DDU tool and installed the new driver and got this error. I tried it several times and still got this one.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!

happens to me everytime i use a new version of DDU, at first i thought it was the driver. something is conflicting with it and my system.
DDU v10.0 still works great for me, no error

I used the latest version of DDU and installed all new updates for Windows and got the error.

I will try using DDU v10.0 and update here after the installation.

DDU is "Display Driver Uninstaller," it replaced the now-defunct Driver Sweeper.

Ditto, I tried that tool and Driver Sweeper (an older version mind you) found lots of AMD bits left over after it "uninstalled".

The Cat Uninstall Manager plus Driver Sweeper works fine for me. Never had any problems with them.

Complete opposite for me and every system I have built for friends and family. The AMD drivers have always given me headache and wasted phone conversations trying to walk people through their issues. Since I have been using DDU for the past two years I have yet to encounter any errors and the phone calls/texts stopped whenever a new AMD driver was released.

Gotta love technology, eh?

After I installed the driver the check mark was Yellow stating the install was complete but with warnings.

Is it a good install? Or I need to redo it?

I had custom install and unchecked Raptr App.

Depends on what the warning was for... I get it each time, because I have the HDMI audio installed in device manager; however, it is disabled, so the Catalyst installer gives me a warning.
Which is bogus, 'cause I don't need it right now. If I enable the HDMI audio it installs with no complaint.

What was the warning for?
The log file should show you..

I think that may depend a lot on what type of hardware they're using and how they're uninstalling. It's been said the Cat Uninstall Utility can remove AMD software other than GPU drivers on setups that use more than just their GPUs.

Regardless though, I would never use their Express Uninstall mode. I always select Custom, and it lets you choose which items to uninstall.

And one of the reasons I like Driver Sweeper is it's thorough and lists only AMD Display items, not AMD in general. That way you don't risk uninstalling AMD software OTHER than the display stuff, and there's no confusion as to what if anything is left. You know it's GPU related.

everytime someone makes one of these driver help threads, one of those driver uninstallers is always involved and almost always the cause.

Check whether AV interferes with the installation.

What's with the recent 15.5/15.6/15.7 AMD drivers using the same display driver version 14.502.1014(which came out with the 15.4 FreeSync package)?
The only thing that gets an update is the Crossfire profiles and CCC.

It even says in the 15.7 notes that the new driver version is 15.02?

Also any one remember where the Crossfire profiles live on the harddisk?

Just leave it as is. If you try to update it, they send you to the new version called Driver Fusion.

Bah, not if you use a decent one and actually know how to use it. Just the fact that some claim the AMD uninstall tool removes unwanted non display driver related stuff when you can easily select Custom and pick only display related drivers makes it obvious some don't have a clue what they're doing. :rolleyes:
