So long for Ati :p

^Yeah, AMD didn't do anything except pay a bunch of money to put their name in that sentence in the place of ATI. I'm definitely not going to sell my card now, because it looks like it's going to be the last generation of cards with the ATI name on it.

actually the wii has an ATi logo on it on the top right corner so i don't think the ATi name is going anywhere

I believe that AMD is still keeping the ATI name for graphics cards.

Why do you care so much what the stupid name is? As long as it performs, what's the difference.

Brand loyalty and brand recognition. Wow, you are actually suggesting that people accept AMD over Ati by referring to ATI as a stupid name. If it's just a stupid name why not leave it as is?

I understand brand loyalty and brand recognition from the corporate side of things. But the fact that someone would purposely NOT buy the card, even if it was outstanding, just because of the name is ridiculous and stupid.

There is nothing in his/her post that says he not gona buy AMD cards.
All that is in the post is that he/she wont sell his/her card.

Hey, it's that person(s) prerogative is it not? As we all know a good product doesn't make it the best product, P4 anyone?

Guess I misread :o

I hope they keep it as Ati, but I think someday it will have a new name... some years down the road. If they change it now, it woulden't be good for business.

The will keep it as ATI...I believe there was news about it a few weeks ago that they're staying with the ATI name for graphics cards.

I really don't care about the name, heh... ATi is technically AMD now anyway..

You guys are all a bunch of dweebs. The GPU in the wii is a hunk of junk anyway. 640x480 resolution.... Give me a break....

for the billionth gazillionth quadrillionth quadinfinitybillionth time its not about the graphics its about the fun
