So i currently have a RX 5700 Series GPU and i a lot of games i play i'm seeing low GPU usage which is affecting in game performance. Does anyone know a work around ?

Games affected Call of Duty Black OPs 4, Call of Duty MW, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, Mortal Kombat 11, Street Fighter V, etc..

Get gpu-z as a overlay see what's going on, temperature and power limits.

You have the latest AMD mobo chipset drivers correct?

How about mobo bios?

What model silverstone psu is that?

I know amd released a new gpu driver today or yesterday.

Temperatures are below 60c

Not sure about chipset drivers

Lastest Mobo BIOs

Lastest GPU driver

Heres the driverfix for DBZ:Goku

Heres the driver launched yesterday.

If you need further help, report the finding in bug report On the software and then reach out to @AlienIsGOD @FordGT90Concept @INSTG8R.

Yeah before i do a gpu driver I check for a chipset driver

Check for power limit in gpu-z.

What specific model is your silverstone psu?

Yeah before i do a gpu driver I check for a chipset driver

Check for power limit in gpu-z.

Strider Plus

Newest driver won't fix your issues. Drivers are currently a mess, AMD is aware and these issues will hopefully be resolved in an upcoming driver.

This the exact model

You should have enough current available. From that unit

Alright so i did more testing this time with Battlefield V. As i know it should be more demanding than the OP games.

What i noticed is at 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 the usage would bounce from 0-30% than back down but never ramp up.

But if i set the resolution to 3840x2160 than the GPU fully ramps up and usage stays around 97-99%

Both scenarios CPU usage was around 30-45%

This was captured playing at 4K after 20mins in Battlefield V and you can see temps are well in line.

So this is really baffling.

I'm now on Driver 20.1.3

So i tested with one of my older monitor and games run much better and usage is in line. Res is 1920x1200

More demanding Resolutions

More demanding Resolutions
But i want to also note as of yesterday on my other monitor now when i try to launch games display states resolution not supported at it's native res of 3840x2160

and i would think 1200p is not much more demanding than 1080p

Are ALL games affected at 1080p? You list some and then say etc... if all games are, consider swapping cables and outputs on the GPU if possible. That said many of the games would merely tickle a GPU at 1080p...so there's that. You turned the settings down from 4k/native, yes? In game?

If you swapped monitors and saw a change....really try the above (how are your monitors connected? I see one listed and a bit confused).

Are you hitting any power limits? I see the question asked but not directly answered.

What about global vsync or something similar to limit fps... you banging off 60hz/fps?

More demanding Resolutions
1920x1080 vs 1920x1200 should not make the gpu use go from 0-30% to normal/~99%.

Seems like all games below 4K

I've tried DP and HDMI 2.0

Yes in game

Not hitting any power limits usage around 160W when playing BFVor running 3Dmark

Global settings are stock untouched but in game I've tried with and without Vsync

Well, I'll then ask what fps are you getting? Is there an in-game bench in any titles so you can directly compare results with something else? Like look around for reviews of cards using games with integrated benchmarks, match settings amd compare.

Crappy FPS sub 30s sometimes 12 FPS.

I really have to lean on my display as even my Xbox One X is having a problem at 4K now. I have to power the display off, wait, than back on for it to show 4K on my xbox

That's odd... yeah...
Just for reference

CoD Black OPs IIII maxed settings

On 4K display set at 1080P run around 30-60 FPS dips as low as 5 FPS

But my older monitor at 1200P same exact settings

Runs 100-130 FPS steadily with dips around 90 FPS

Same settings with no Vsync

DBZ at 1080P runs around 30-40 FPS with drops to 10 FPS

With the 1200P same settings it runs at a steady 60FPS which is the game frame cap

An update

I received the new monitor and boy i did not know what i was missing.

Games run silky smooth with FreeSync and CoD easily holds 120FPS at 1440p

Another update

System is running flawless

GPU Runs at 1750-1950MHz core clocks and uses about 186W voltage at 1150mv. temps hover around 65C core and 72C Junction

I even recorded some gameplay videos and did some live streams

So far for $285 brand new i am satisfied.

I just bought this card, and I have the same problem. Can you tell me how did you fix this issue? I'm playing in 1080, but getting way more fps than this card could make. havin a ryzen 3600x and 16 gigs of ram at 3200 mhz. Cpu usage is around 70% in games.

did you ever manage to fix it, my guy?

no, I just wrote it today. I'm thinking about reinstalling windows, maybe that'll help..
