Hi there, I have an Amd Sempron LE-1100. I can change my multiplier, but not my FSB Freq in the bios. The multiplier is stock at 9.5, which is all the higher the bios will let it go. Is this processor locked? What can i do to overclock this thing. The bios does list the Hyper Transport. It's set at auto right now. If i set it to manual, it's at 800. i can run this at 200,400,600,800, or 1000. I tried 1000, but when i saved it to start the os, everything went blank. Luckily all i had to do was take the battery out of the motherboard and put it back in. all my system specs are listed in System Specs. I've read about alot of amd processors being locked, but i haven't read anything about the Sempron LE-1100. Someone please help me out.

I don't think that board is good for overclocking. If I am not wrong Semprons are multi locked so you can't lower too. Unless there is a hacked bios for that board you are very limited in the OC area. Get a better board like Biostar if you want to OC.

Thanks, i think i would like to stick with an ASUS motherboard. Any good suggestions for an ASUS board?

Hi there, I just stumbled upon this forum while trying to find out how to overclock the RAM of my Gigabyte Mobo.
Concerning your questions about oc-ing the LE1100:
The multi IS unlocked and it´s possible to use values between 5 and 9.5
My mobo (GA-MA69VM-S2) allows to fix the multi. I do not fix it. I can really recommend you this board. I easily reached a FSB of 300 (stock = 200) which results in 2850MHz CPU speed. This is a lot for a CPU that cost me less than 30 EUR (should be 45 $)!

Edit:
Don´t forget (if using Windows) to install the Cool`n`Quiet driver and install the "ICool" tool delivered with the mainboard CD-ROM. The the Sempron will automatically downclock when idle.

Its all with default voltage? Does the gigabyte board allow you to change the voltage or you have a hacked bios?

wow unlocked multi on a sempron lol not bad and 2.8ghz damn thats a nice oc well done :toast:,

to the OP if you dont have/fancy spending any $ on a new board you could always try and raise the fsb within windows by using software like cpufsb? or somthing similar i havent oc from windows for a while so couldnt reccomend any other programs

EDIT: have a look on the asus site for your motherboard make and see if it has any utilities for overclocking

No, it´s the standard BIOS (latest version).

Right now it runs @266MHz, just wait some minutes and I´ll give proof of the FSB 300 :)

btw welcome to tpu :toast:

oh and i believe you have the amd equivalent of speedstep turned on (damn so long since i had an amd chip now cant remember what its called) as its running at 266/1.3ghz

I think Sempron 3000 and upper are multi-unlocked. LE-1100 will compare to Sempron 3000. Makes sense. hmm without upping voltage you got upto 300 FSB. Good for you. Run Orthos for minimum 6 hrs and see if its stable at that setting.

And I think you can go up to 260 or 270FSB with C'nQ enabled. If you want to go higher you might want to disable that.

oh and Welcome to TPU.

Okay, back again.

I did not change any voltage values - because I can´t. :) Btw C`n`Q is enabled. BIOS Version is F7. At 2.8 GHz it still runs on 1.3 V ! And the temperature does not exeed 37°C.
Speedfan starts cooling at 30°C (arctic freezer 64)

The system is a fileserver, therefore I spent most of the money for the HDDs. Board and CPU should be cheap and low in power consumption. Both met in this AMD System.
I don´t like to spend 6hrs on Orthos or Prime....it never crashed before. When it goes beyond the POST, it´s safe. :D

That is damn good for a $30 proc.

Yeah! I was surprised, too. After some Intel-years (E6300) it was a pretty good idea to try AMD again. :respect:
Hope they´ll make through the next year...
