AMD over the weekend released the AMD Software Adrenalin drivers. Version 22.10.2 WHQL fixed a host of outstanding issues. To begin with, Radeon Super Resolution failing to trigger after screen resolution or HDR settings change in Nioh 2, has been fixed. V-Sync being set globally to always-off causing system stuttering or driver timeouts during video playback on the RX 6000-series GPUs, has been fixed. A driver timeout noticed during HEVC video encoding on RX 6000-series GPUs has been fixed. Video playback dropped framed issues on Chromium web-browsers with hardware-accelerated video decoding, has been fixed. Chromium-based browsers experiencing video stuttering on extended monitors and mixed refresh rates, has been fixed. Bouncy or wobbly Oculus dashboard menu has been fixed. Inverted colors when previewing the timeline in Vegas Pro has been fixed.

Fixed Issues
  • Radeon Super Resolution may fail to trigger after changing resolution or HDR settings on games such as Nioh 2.
  • Vertical Refresh Sync set globally to Always Off may cause system stuttering or driver timeout during video playback using Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.
  • Driver timeout may occur using HEVC hardware encoding on Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.
  • Dropped frames may occur during video playback using hardware acceleration on Chromium-based browsers with Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.
  • Chromium-based browsers may experience video stuttering on extended monitors with mixed refresh rates using Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs.
  • Oculus dashboard menu and rendered controllers may appear bouncing/wobbly on Oculus Quest 2 with some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon RX 6800 XT Graphics.
  • While previewing the timeline in VEGAS Pro, some colors may appear inverted.
Known Issues
  • GPU utilization may be stuck at 100% in Radeon performance metrics after closing games on some AMD Graphics Products such as Radeon 570.
  • When Radeon Anti-Lag is enabled, a beep can be heard when pressing shift + back key. [Resolution targeted for 22.11.1]
  • Elite Dangerous may crash upon launch on Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs. [Resolution targeted for 22.10.3]
  • Stuttering may occur during video playback using hardware acceleration with Firefox on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon RX 6900 XT Graphics.
  • Brief display corruption may occur when switching between video and game windows on some AMD Graphics Products such as the Radeon RX 6700 XT.
  • Improvements have been made in 22.10.2 to reduce occurrence for some configurations.

And still no support for Ryzen 7000 CPUs within the Adrenalin performance monitoring and overlay. :shadedshu:

Quite interesting that they have target for some of the know issue, it's new i think.

They seem to have focussed on the video encoding/decoding on this part. i wonder if some of the few next release will be on that part too.

It would be also good if they improve the support in application. Would love to see Plex support hardware encoding/decoding on AMD instead of just Nvidia.

I'm still using Nov 2021 driver lol Keep forgetting I don't have my old RX480 anymore.

Why my PCIExpres WiFi card disconnects from internet. Something with video card drivers, maybe pci bus

What drive do you use for your 6800?

They still haven't solved the 100% gpu usage being stuck on RX 570 cards? It's been going on forever.

I've had that happen with the last 3 adrenalin drivers for some dumb reason AMD have been replacing the PCI Driver which shuts off access to PCIe devices and USB devices forcing a hard reboot

I noticed this as well, that is cool, more transparency is always good. :rockout: :toast:

Actually last WHQL drivers (22.5.1) for RX480 were released on 28.4.2022. I'm using those.

But they're not out yet?!.

What good would that do.

Same one as the RX480...........never even bothered to update it...............that one below.

He has a 7700X and a 6900xt
AHH yes , I will blame my eye's for that one they failed me as did my reading comprehension skills Ty.

I really like that they include a possible fix date/version for some known issues.

i've been using this since yesterday so no issues.

No worries - I struggled with how to word it to make it clearer. Probably should have gone with AM5 instead of 7000 series as the new GPUs will more than likely be 7000 series as well.

I haven't run into any issues with game play either. I was having a problem getting Forza Horizon 5 to start correctly with the overlay active with 21.10.1, but that seems to be gone now. Unfortunately, there was a game update at the same time so it could have been either that fixed that issue.

To be honest it took months for 5000 support to be added. Even 6000 laptop CPUs got support before 5000.

Didn't the RX's and their mobile counterparts get dropped from Win 11 support already? Maybe also for Win 10? I can't remember...

Nice to see more folks using Workstation Drivers for their consumer GPU's. All i use are workstation gpus for everything, the Radeon Pro 21.Q4 is actually really good, i was using that for about 8 months, but recently switch over to Radeon Pro 22.Q3, for my Pro W6600. Yea its good to try out different drivers, and not always new drivers always fixes the problem. Have fun!

Ya. I probably CAD as much as game. But both are getting less and less time it seems.

Not sure but I think it’s supported under both OSs

Yep fully supported

I wonder if that is the problem with my USB3 PCIe card. It's been occasionally showing as a driver error on startup and requires restarting PC.
