when I turn on my lappy and desktop comes up My laptops touchpad works for 2 Seconds and then...nothing...stops working. Could it be driver problem or is my touchpad broken
 
Would booting into safe mode not allow the touch pad driver to be enabled? Worth a shot.

I say open the case and re-seat the ribbon.
