This is what I do, and I'm using 0.27 beta 3.

I have three profiles set:

(1) Default - 725/396
(2) Medium - 810/450
(3) High - 837/425

So when I play say "Crysis" I use #3. But if I'm going to play "Counter-Strike: Source" I'll use #2. Every time I'm done playing any game (or using a 3d studio max 2008) I re-load to #1, default.

This will help extend not only the life of the card (by many different factors) but it'll allow you to have cooler temperatures and only use it when you need it. Plus, I'm sure in some way you'll be doing your part to prevent Global Warming. Example, my temperature was 75c on #3 and now 60c.

Hope this was original and helpful. :)
