I'm looking to backup my files from home to an FTP server. Things I need:
  • Time based retention: I need to keep deleted source files on the destination backup for at least 30 days, for obvious reasons.
  • Compress the data into Zip files before its sent to the server.
  • Encrypt the Zip files with a password and AES encryption(128-bit minimum, 256-bit prefered).
  • The ability to break the backup up into smaller Zip files.
  • No software needed to restore data. I want to be able to just download the Zip files I need and open them in 7zip to pull out the files I need to restore if it comes to that.
  • Support for FTP and sFTP.
Anyone have any suggestions? I don't mind paying for the software, it doesn't need to be a free solution.

Holy crap, I could honestly use a solution like this as well.

I know that the commercial edition of Dropbox has some of these abilities, but I think it's stupid expensive.

I'll keep an eye on this thread!!!!

Thanks for bringing this up @newtekie1 :toast:
