Hello!

I own a R5 2600 + RX 580 4GB rig and it performs bad in games like CP77. 4GB VRAM is not enough for gaming i guess. so i want to upgrade but got a tight budget so i want to know if an arc 750 is a good option for me or not.

People compare this card with RTX 3060 and RX 6600. But the thing is, here A750 costs half of what 3060 costs. and i dont want another amd card. had enough of em. want a change.

afaik it used to be bad but with the new drivers it performs much better. like in some games it performs better than 3060, in some games it performs way worse and in some they are relatively close.
it feels like getting a 3060 with half of its cost but its a bit risky?

i want to play games like cp77 on high settings. want to play starfield too but its in a bad spot i guess so i can only hope they fix it sooner or later. as long as its fixed im good i can wait.

id love to stream on twitch with obs and using gpu's encoder but i dont know if its good for streaming or not. used to capture funny moments with instant replay. does it have this feature on driver?

is there any chance for intel to abondon their 1st gen gpus after they release 2nd or 3rd ones? i think it needs regular driver updates to get better and if it just stops id be really sad :(

(not that important but can i use stablediffusion ai to generate images? i can use it with rx 580. hella slow with 4gb vram tho.)

can you guys share your thoughts?

There is a reason for that, their GPUs are still plagued by performance issues on a per game basis and in general, some even straight up don't work until a driver update fixes it. I'd stay away.

want to play starfield too
That's one of the games that just didn't work on Arc GPUs lol.

i know arc series give horrible performance on starfield. also it keeps crashing afaik. but if they somehow fix it in the near future then its all good.

Power consumption is high for the level of performance it provides. Performance generally sits between the 6600XT and 6700XT these days, so it would be a pretty big improvement over the RX580. If you plan to get an A750, make sure your system supports Resizable BAR first. Intel's Arc cards are basically unusable for games without it.

Thanks for the answers. Well, my motherboard supports rebar with the latest bios version but they say ryzen 5 2600 does not support rebar. I don't know what that means tho.

I read MSI was supporting Zen and Zen+unlike Gigabyte. It should work with your 2600 on the MSI A320M PRO-VH PLUS.

You can read my thread here in the Intel forum, if you want feedback from someone that actually uses an A750. It isn't always the plug and play experience teams red and green are. But with minimal effort it is good bang for buck. ARC is constantly getting updates for Starfield. Results from others playing with the latest are mixed so far. I am installing it now, and will post results in my ARC thread. It should continue improving rapidly.

I would personally buy a 3060 over a 750 **if** your goal is not just "wow shiny new thing need testing". Thoughh at half price it would be pretty tempting, and it is a big upgrade over a 580.

I'd definitely want one for the novelty, but for a regular user it might be too much. I've heard issues have been getting ironed out though

I pulled my 4090 out and used my 770 as my main GPU for gaming and programming.

IMO it is a safe buy. We are no longer using the drivers from late last year. Any quirks with games at this point are really just like any other manufacturer. In my experience anyway. Especially now that starfield is getting some love. But let’s not forget starfield had various issues with everyone it was just felt the most on intel.

Glad to hear that honestly. Have you tried GVT-g?

Not yet, I colocated all my older haswell servers. I want to get some new ones and run my arc cards. I will try it when I have something newer to play with.

I've done some digging (by that I mean about 10 minutes of going through google results) and it seems like Arc sadly doesn't support GVT-g, or just SR-IOV at all.
