Own an AMD Ryzen CPU?

Want to run Assassins Creed Odyssey?

well i guarantee you will get crashes if your memory is not 100 percent stable. I've run some pretty big games on this pc with my old settings and never had a problem with any.

Until now. Assassins Creed Odyssey uses memory inefficiently. It stresses the CPU's Infinity Fabric.

I had to lower memory speed to 3400mhz and 1700mhz for the cpu infinity fabric to run without errors which led to a crash. This has fixed the game and i literally stream for hours np.

I also just attempted to carefully up the memory speed, and any setting above 3400mhz would crash the game after an hour or so.

You very likely don't need to reinstall or check the game files. or under clock your CPU. You do however have to keep this Infinity Fabric below 1700mhz or the CPU will not be able to cope. tested on rig in sig. :toast:

I have not had that issue on my Ryzen 3700x with my RAM running at 3733 (IF @ 1867).
I actually have AC: Odyssey and Origins currently installed on my PC and play them occasionally.

Interesting, there could be a memory hole or something similar where the issue exists and i could of been one of those people running those settings.

Could you try having it run for a longer session say over an hour or two and see if it crashes. I can literally change this one setting and start having the issue, i ended up on the ubi forum and a developer suggested it was an issue. i'll try to find the link for you.
it looks like whatever the issue is, it may also only exist on some amd 3000 series cpu's.

I'd have to have a look at a deep dive into the architecture before i commented more on the subject.

I played Odyssey a week or so ago for about 3 - 4 hours without any crashes.
And I have played it multiple times for an hour or two (my usual time spent gaming when I do play) also without any issues.

Thanks buddy, is there anyone else who uses an nvidia gpu with ryzen that hasnt had any issues. Everyone i came across on my road to researching this problem had this combination of amd ryzen cpu and nvidia gpu. I also use an Asus motherboard. No other games cause this issue... Only odyssey, i think it might matter that i stream at the same time as playing the game. Hopefully those who do have this issue see this post and try changing their memory and Infinity Fabric first before anything else. :toast:

im also using trident z gtzr ram.

the streaming thing probably has something to do with it.

i reckon so, because my system is almost using the same silicon as NoJuan999. :toast:

The streaming could definitely be what's causing your crashes.
I don't stream the game.
But I do stream from my PC to a 1080p TV via wifi / firestick with Emby while gaming.
