Hi all,

Yesterday I was installing a new CPU cooler on my ASUS B250I Strix Gaming, and noticed this header that somehow missed my attention for 3 years now. Any idea what it might be? It looks like a USB 2.0 header to me, but according to ASUS's website, my motherboard doesn't have any USB 2.0 mid-board. There's no mention of this area in the user's manual either.

Because it is right next to the BIOS chip, my guess is a diagnostic header for re-programming the soldered BIOS chip.

That's a SPI Flash header.

Thank you both! :)

It makes sense, though I'm surprised that even the user's manual doesn't make any mention of it.

They consider it a debug port for service and manufacturing needs only. End user should not be bothered about it.
