I have installed the latest mobo update from the ASUS site.

Help needed please

it should still work, its posted so thats the hard thing.

try flashing it again to a bios version that supports your cpu tho :)

yeah installing updates and bios flashing are 2 different things. You need to flash the latest bios. is it one of the new 45nm cpu's?? that would explain this.

Yeah, you should check for a BIOS update. One of my media boxes has a same issue, old BIOS with an unsupported/unknown CPU in the socket, but I haven’t experienced any actual problems with it, software/OS or overclocking-wise.

It would help if we knew what CPU you were using(is it the E2180 or E4400?). Also, the 1302 BIOS is a Beta Bios, try flashing back to 1205 and see if that works.

CPU is E8400.

I loaded 1205 earlier it nothing changed, this beta one did likewise

I hate to break it to you, but as of yet the P5N32-E doesn't support 45nm CPUs, like the E8400. There will probably be a BIOS out eventually that supports them, but currently there isn't one.

from what i have read from nvidia forums bios update for the 45nm CPU`S is duo to 2-4 weeks

Well that's great news. Bloke at the shop told me it was fully compatible.

here some fix i picked up from asus forums:

Hi all... joined to give you this info... but first...

ASUS WE NEED A BIOS UPDATE FOR THE "P5N32-E SLI" TO SUPPORT THE NEWER 45nm PROCS (you know, like what the specs said it would before I bought it... talk about false advertising)!!!!!!

Anyway...
I've tried this with BIOS version 1205 and 1302beta and the E8400 proc on the P5N32-E SLI... if you go into the BIOS and change the multi to 10 (leaving the other proc settings at auto/default or whatever)... when the BIOS restarts the proc will boot at the correct 3.0Ghz with a multi of 9... until your next reboot... where it will default back to a multi of 6.

Since I keep my PC on all the time this doesn't effect me much unless I have to restart due to software update or install... I just have to remember to go into the BIOS on each restart and reset the multi to 10.

Hope this helps... and I hope we get an update soon ASUS.... I'm watching ASUS... and I should be more pissed than most as I've bought 4... yes FOUR of your P5N32-E SLI boards with the idea that it would support the new procs (like it even says on the box).... man am I pissed.

CPU is E8400.

I loaded 1205 earlier it nothing changed, this beta one did likewise

If you are really keen to get it going, swap the CPU for a E6*** and then OC back up to FSB 1333. You will get practically the same performance.

have you tried manually setting FSB, multiplier and voltage?

as it´s been said best option is to wait bios update for the 45nm CPU´s
