so we have 7770 at `work` its dead BINB it was purchased in canada and ASUS doesn't wanna open a RMA
I would rather they not throw it in the trash just yet anybody know how to get this RMA'd
tried the usual avenues but support are too busy reading from `The Script` to get it approved
*Pokes @cadaveca you wouldn't know the number/contact for asus canada would you like direct support not the general desk ....

I remember some ASUS rep telling us to request escalation to a "level 3" tech or something such. Supposedly, they will have to do just that, and it's a right you have. Level 3 techs are supposedly competent engineers who know stuff and can get shit done.

Not sure I believe it but worth a try maybe?

EDIT: This article seems to support the claim:

Nope, sorry. If it is BNIB, then return it. Retailer is responsible for first howmanyever days anyway.

There are direct US help guys via other forums for specific products, you might have some luck trying that avenue.

So in this case BNIB does not mean "Brand new in box" but "Basically new in box?" :P

I wouldn't warranty an random card that might be from the pits of hell either. Like do you really blame them? It magically appeared? It's the spawn of hell, I tell you now!!!

Seriously though, really?

was worth a shot before it goes back from whence it came,I mean it was new in box, defective (very trippy rainbow effect) couldn't see why they wouldn't its not like it was a used card

It's out of region.

Considering I heard a friend brag about how he RMA'd a stateside ASUS GPU RMA to ASUS Canada and got better RMA results than with the USA office, I'm skeptical that they'd care.

I dunno as screwy as ASUS's RMA-Dept has proven to be ....
