So I got that Alienware x51 R1 and I installed windows 10 on it. Here is the problem, currently I am using the 8400gs that came with it till my 1060 6gb comes in. But every time the machine shuts down and I turn it back on, it goes to 1024x768 resolution on my 1080p monitor. Turns out, the nvidia drivers keep failing to start and that I get a code 43 error on my 8400gs. So I did a search and I see others who had the same issue and the multitude of options to try to fix it. None of them worked. Not a single one. Code 43 keeps showing up. Tried the drivers specifically for it for Windows 10. Nope.

Even the Intel HD 4000 onboard doesn't work. Same error - code 43.

I am suspecting I may end up with the exact same error on my 1060 when it comes. Is this the machine doing it, or is it Windows 10 and just lack of driver support or what?

So I reverted to Windows 7 and it does not register a code43 error. I am just assuming that the 8400gs just isn't supported by windows 10 no matter what is done even with the appropriate drivers. I am assuming.

Cause i find it odd that it works under windows 7 no problem but under 10? Nope.
