just want to know the approx idle temp these cpu's are supposed to be running at? mine is currently running at 55-56 deg *c.

the max is 70'C

I hope 55º is your load temp! With a stock cooler and decent airflow you should be somewhere in the 30's with a load temp somewhre in the 50's.

By the way, press Alt + 167 on the number pad in order to get the degree sign.

I have a Venice 3000+ @2.43g and idle is 24-25c on a good cold night, and load would hit around 40c. I'm using SpeedFan 4.26 which should be accurate since i matched it up with Everest and Sandra before.

That is extremely hot, you should stop using the comp IMMEDIATELY until you re-apply the thermal paste on the heatsink.

Or if you bought the computer pre-built, take it back.

My oc'ed 3500+ runs 39-41 idle these days.

DUDE U R THE BEST!! ive been wondering how the @#%$ u guys get that symbol...:rockout: 50º

spoke with amd

AMD said it depends alot on the mobo you are using, he did say that the max temp is 70c.mine is still at 59c at idle.i dont think that is right with any mobo.i even have new hs paste on the cpu.

Try using several differnt programs to get your cpu temp. Dont rely on mobo stats. I suggest, using speedfan, sisoft sandra, and update your bios from the offical website for your mobo. You should NEVER idle over 41. My Venice 3500+ idles at 38 with stock cooling and OC'd to 2.4 from 2.2 and my room is freaking hot.

on my 3200 i get 33C +/- a few C at full load on stock air.

I have an A64 Venice 3000+ overclocked from 1.8 to 2.6 @ 1.55v w/ a TT silent boost K8 hs/fan. Idle is 28-32C Load always less than 40C.
