I updated a few weeks back to Cat 11.2 and since then Windows Media Center has been choppy. I thought it was a codec issue so I uninstalled CCCP.

Problem persisted and I also just noticed yesterday that my Windows rating for desktop aero was lower (5.6 / 7.4 for 3D games) when it used to be equal for both.

So I tried reinstalling Windows (since it had been awhile as well) but unfotunately the issue still persisted.

So unsatisfied, I tried uninstalling Cat 11.2 and reverted to my long trusted Cat 10.8 and VIOLA both issues were resolved. WMC ran like charm again and my Windows rating now looks correct for both.

Does anybody here have had issues with Cat 11.2 as well?

I haven't had that issue. Sounds like you may have a wonky setting in catalyst maybe?

Well, normally I just leave Cat settings as it is except for the 3D part...

I also tried tweaking the "video" settings but it didn't help. :(

Are you just installing the drivers and Catalyst?

If you have MLAA enabled you might try unticking that option. I have problems with corruption in Flash and a few other programs on the desktop when MLAA is enabled.

11.2 also kills windows live movie maker. Went back to 10.11's and all is well again.
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm. :D

I am having issues with these drivers as well, Movie Maker for me keeps flickering under crossfire as well as any other windows live essential software inc. And constant crashes with moviemaker as well with the drivers so you are not the only one, I cannot be bothered to roll back at the moment though :)

installed the whole package... but haven't tried unticking MLAA though, i did check that option... :ohwell:

oh well, at least i'm not the only one having issues...

It is the AMD codec that is causing the problem. In the release notes it tells you that it is still beta but doesn't say anything about it on the install. The other way around it is disabling hardware acceleration in Windows Media Player.

thats my guess. just dont use the ATI codecs, and problem solved.

ahhh... crap i didn't notice that... maybe i assumed it was just the traditional avivo stuff.

No guess. I had a problem with Windows Media Player. Playing any video with it would cause the display driver to crash and recover. It would eventually result in a bsod. Either I could disable the hardware acceleration in the options or uninstall the ATI codec for 7. That was when I found out that the codec was beta and still is even up the latest Catalyst.

I downloaded Catalyst 11.2 and my video card was f**ked up..
Like it would completely freeze my computer with 11.2.
Then, i uninstalled catalyst 11.2 and my computer is fine now.

11.2 SUX
