At this year's CeBIT NVIDIA had a load of new products and was very aggressively marketing them, which made ATI's existing customers feel insecure. In order to level the playing field and reassure distributors that ATI is indeed able to compete, this presentation was created. It quotes several big websites on topics like X1800GTO, 7600 and 7900.

ATI's PR department really seems to be the worst in the entire computer industry. From looking at the quotes it appears that they primarily try to convince themselves that they have a justification for their own existence ... as long as they believe it.

I am surprised that there weren't any more Chinese websites quoted or Bildzeitung.

Smells like BS to me. I see the 7900GT and X outperformaing the X1900 in every actual game benchmark while using less power and that's all I need to know.

As long as you dont want pretty things like AA, AF or HDR.

As for me, HL2 @ 1280X1024 @ 8X-12X max resolution, with the loudest component being my northbridge fan is still really nice.

these slides arent BS. they're just not saying what was used. Nvidia gets its ass kicked when AA and AF are on (4x 16x) but Nv pull ahead without either of those. The two will argue day in and day out over that, but anyone who plays without AF is insane :)

oh and yes, Nv do run cooler and quiter at this point in time (replace stock cooler, and its all good ;) ). However the IQ is definately lower, adaptive AA, temporal AA, HQAF (zero optimisations) are things Nvidia doesnt have, and hot damn can they make a difference.

from experience and gameplay (not being ati fan boy) reality is have tried nvidia products + ati since the x800 series battle with the geforce 6 series and now x1000 series to geforce 7 series ................ nvidia lacks power and quality when it comes to AA & AF ................... and all new games use these functions to give u the best gaming experience , if i am goign to spend 500+ dollars on a video card it better play games with that or its not worth spending that much .;)

turth is you paying a premium for a tweaked 7800. Say what you want but on average it is a see saw battle between 7900 & x1900. Therefore, availability & price does have the finally say unless you a fanboy. BTW, can you actually buy a 7900 GTX yet?
NewEgg <--scroll down a bit
ZZF <--type in 7900GTX in the search engine

Monarch Computers

As of today 4-03-06 none of these sites have a 7900GTX in stock. Maybe that will change in the future...I hope so because it is a decent VC to own but why can't you find one? I am sure if you search the web hard enough you might be able to find one. But the major place online that I know of simply don't have them and, they haven't had them in stock for sometime now.

So before you go fanboy get the facts straight. Before you start praising a product make sure it is in stock first as that it what counts most...availability, price, performance, IMO!

6X-16X Max Settings in Lost Coast @ 1280X1024 Average framerate 74.1 My monitor cannot support any higher framerate without tearing a little during quick turns so I have locked it at 75Htz.

715core 820mem, lowered from what it can stand so I do not hear it.

The pictures speak for themselves. ATI is better for picture quality with good performance. Nvidia is better for performance with lower picture quality. I honestly like using high quality mode. If I didn't I would have stayed with my original Rage card back in the day.
