Well i got interesting in trying SPDIF, as my motherboard, 790i FTW onboard sound supports it, as do my Z-5500.

So i bought a Digital cable from bestbuy plug it it but i get no sound.. im using Vista 64-bit and latest Realtek Drivers, the onboard reads the SPDIF but i still get nothing. my Z-5500 say "No digital data"

.. any ideas? i was really looking forward to using this as it suppose to be great quality yet i have very little idea on how to get it to work!

Double check that the Realtek driver is set to SPDIF-OUT and not SPDIF-IN, does SPIDIF-OUT work if you attempt to watch a store bought DVD in Power DVD or Win DVD or does SPIDIF only refuse to work with MP3s? I'm not an Expert with the Z-5500 but it sounds like the speakers are still operating under the analogue despite the digital cable being in, do the speakers have an auto-detect option?
Ask your question in this thread because it's TPU's dedicated Z-5500 fan club thread -->

What sort of 'digital' cable did you get (ie optical etc)

Optical, not Coaxial.
