this is a really easy question i guess but i cant seem to figure it out.what i want to do is to start utorrent at 11pm and close at 9am everyday i want to do this as i dont pay my bills and i will be away again for 2months, does any1 know how to do it as i think you can schedule task but can i set it to start everyday and close???

any help would be great and hello again i dout any1 noticed i had been gone for the last 6weeks

also im using xp

There are a few task schedulers available that will do what you want, but I can't find any that are free.

HERE is one for $40

You can use the built in windows scheduler to launch a command (which would be launching utorrent.exe). You can also close utorrent, in the same process, if it has a kill switch.

thats the proglem im having i can start it up no problem but its stopping it thats the problem without shutting down the pc as i want it on all the time i am away! any ideas?

i have just checked and i havent ever seen it but there is one built into utorrent any problem being the program will still be running as long as it doesnt slow my net down i will be find, ill give it a go! thanks guys

TuneUp Utilities has a easy startup manager :)

Found it.

To open utorrent...

Use the windows scheduler to open <specified location>\utorrent.exe

To close utorrent...

Use the command "taskkill /f /im utorrent.exe"
