AVG users! i need your help! (dont worry... this wont hurt)

Hey guys.. my lappy crashed.. and aparently corrupted my avgssff.dll file, which is what runs the safe search thing for the avg firefox toolbar.. and i couldn't launch firefox without deleting this file.. which was obviously the source of the problem. now the problem is, i really like the thing and would like to get it functional without having to reinstall avg, and of course for that, i'd need the uncorrupted dll file. couldn't find the file @ dll-files.com so i was wonderinf if one you could lend me your file?

its located in:

Program Files\AVG\AVG8\Firefox\Components

and its called avgssff.dll

ok I am in process of installing AVG8 on the secondary...will see if it is there!

My fault the free version still registers as 7.5. Most likely wont be of any use !?!

It looks like a no go as the file you are looking to replace is not even in my folder to copy....sorry!
 
i can give it a try avg8 will probably update the file after detecting its outdated anyway, if it is outdated at all, it might just be the same file.
 
so I did some checking and you must not be running free software here....the only link to AVG8 for free is a trial only! sorry I can t be of more help with the free client!
 
the avg free client should have it though
 
just get rid of that program and use avast. its free to and just as reliable
 
its alright, my dad paid a good amount of money for avg, and i've trist nod32, norton, & avast, kaspersky, etc. and i've always ended up back with a combo of avg paid/zonealarm paid/spybot/adaware free.
 
AVG works really well...just too bad that file isnt in the freeware version!
 
oh, that sucks.. didn't you just say you had it in the 7.5 version?
