New mb MSI B550 a-pro, still got the Realtek® 8111H Gigabit LAN controller (Realtek RTL8111H), which seems to be one of the lan controllers on cheap mb's

Sometimes i feel twitch streams isn't fluid when i also have other sites running like youtube,tv,tidal or just as mentioned several twitch streams (cpu, gpu and the amoung of ram and speed from my m.2 ssd is more than okay)

My lan controller, ethernet card isn't the best, it's a low budget, tier controller, ethernet card, i think can't handle a lot of connections when multitasking

I therfore am thinking of upgrading it or change my mb (i can return what i have), if upgrading i have been recommended to go for an intel lan controller, ethernet card (i have 300/300 fiber)

Cheapest new mb with an intel lan controller, ethernet card is a ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING i would also gain optical out (currently using an asus pci e soundcard just to have optical out)

I tried upgrading the driver on realteks website and it did look like there was a newer driver https://www.realtek.com/en/componen...0-1000m-gigabit-ethernet-pci-express-software

And im trying the ashamppo free 40 day trail full functionally working internet accelerator 3

Your limiting factor is the ISP not the motherboard. As you say it not fluent in playback that because you didn't use v sync or gsync

Sometimes when i multitask, some of the many streams, connections isn't fluid

I have more than good enough specs but still have the samme Realtek® 8111H Gigabit LAN controller (Realtek RTL8111H) as my last mb

I therefor based on that and on a different thread think it could be that, my network amplifier from yamaha is streaming music fine

300/300 mb fiber

What happening is the hand shake between the Lan connected to the router as it differated in network speed like if it going 1gb from the Lan to 100mb to the router limiting how much connection is available at any given moment. You have to configure router and/or Lan to fix it otherwise it bottlenecking

Not the case you getting 300mb from isp the router not given you 1000mb on internet alone it only given you 1000mb when sharing files on the network side

often speed are 10/100 or 1000, if you happen to have a very fast router it might be faster

Since i get 300/300 it's no less than 1000mb

I just think it's very annoying when streams don't run smooth if both ends are fast enough

Sometimes tidal is buffing and won't play a song, happend to me today on youtube, 3-4 sec, it stopped and buffed, had to update chrome and i got latest driver from realtek, not msi or windows update

could be your local exchange where you connect to... at nighttime when everyone is home streaming can come to a halt...

Not always like a prime example I had 45mb VDSL from Vodafone as it have 10/100/1000 Lan from the router connected to tp link powerline av600 then to my computer the limiting factor was the tp link av600 as it can't handle above 100mb in auto negotiations with the lan on my computer resulting network dropping out only fix was to force the Lan on the computer to stick to 100mb speed and have a automatic cmd ping test to keep both tp link av600 awake

could be your local exchange where you connect to... at nighttime when everyone is home streaming can come to a halt...
I know what that like as peak time around 5pm kills internet in a heartbeat

That why ISP stated you get up to xxx in speed don't mean you get the full amount as you are sharing congestion with everyone else on the exchange side

That's... not at all how it works. The limit is the lowest speed in the link, which is the up to 300Mbps from your ISP - not the 1Gbps that your router supports.

But even so, 300Mbps should be more than sufficient to handle any number of streams. Wouldn't hurt to try an add-in PCIe network card with a better chipset - they're not particularly expensive.

I have fiber
Doesn't matter, it's all bandwidth to ISPs, there's a pool of it shared by all consumers that is always smaller than what it should be because that's how the ISPs screw us over. That's why your speeds will vary at different times of day, as the ISP's network becomes more or less congested.

Well you have to watch. The intel i225 and possibly the i226 have issues depending on revision.

I have heard the new realtek 2.5Gb chip is good.
Can look for a nic with an intel i210 chip, but that will be more money, probably the same $$ as a 10gb marvell card, but heard the i210 is decent chip.

can check
and snb a good source of info

All depends on the requirement on the Lan card. I think it a waste of money buying another motherboard and facing the same problem again. You may have to check the network activity in task manager while you are multitasking to see where it peaking out on the bandwidth. This will tell you that the bottleneck is in the router not on the motherboard lan.

Try a USB RJ-45 adapter. I have a ugreen brand and like it. If you go that route, make sure to get usb 3.x. I got mine for laptop that lacks onboard rj45. Have used it on other rigs for testing purposes. They come in handy.

Or if you want it be wireless using the android phone and USB cable and tether it as ethernet that what I do on my computer not paying for the expensive ISP.
That what I normally do for wifi testing to diagnose black spots in the house.
It not the first time I done android tethering to my other computers even with Lenovo yoga tablet that have a Sim card slot even that is faster on the internet than my Samsung s7

Thats only 300/300 to your local server, check to see what your connection is like to further away places. It may be your ISP is being throttled/bottlenecked at the major Ingress/Egress points along the network causing the issues.

For example I am based in the UK but some times when I am watching JP/ID Vtubers I can get caching/buffering on 1080/4k streams purely because the bandwidth from that side of the world to where I am is far lower than the 1Gb I can get from my House to the local servers.

Intel NICs suck and just pile of crap. My last 3 mobos with Intel Ethernet never worked right until I bought my current Asus z790 p wifi with Realtek Ethernet. Never had a problem ever since. I have 1Gig Internet connection.
Plus it never makes sense to buy addon pci or USB when you pay $250 plus for a motherboard supposedly have fair enough sort of Ethernet connection.

That the point when cranking up the visual on any streaming site it taxing on the bandwidth available therefore buffering issues appears let alone using a data bundle on a mobile phone it swallows alot of data. I have 120gb of mobile data €20 per month if I watch alot of 4k contents on any streaming sites that be gone in a space of a week. As for ISP it true they throttle everyone regardless if you are downloading or streaming.
