Made the mistake once again of buying a game without checking out what for crippling pain in the arse DRM it deployed.

First time I put on Bioshock 2, everything ran swimmingly.....everytime since, my CPU load is freezing up, my frame rates are going to hell, and when I try to quit, my computer is freeezing up.

I am sure it has something to do with Windows Live and/or the Securom thingy. Is there commonly known method of by-passing Windows Live? I want to play the game, not be forced into using some 3rd rate game killing Microsoft system.

I never had an issue with the game. you OC any? is it stable? have you done a memtest?

I'm with Brandon, I have never had any issues with it either but as we all know, it can be something very small that will upset the applecart.

Could be conflicting software, hardware instability etc. I would start with uninstalling windows live etc. Reinstalling it and see if that fixes anything.

Other than that I don't have a clue. Good luck, hope you get it sorted as it's a decent game.

Actually.

I dont use MSN messenger anymore cos windows forced me to do a Windows Live 'update', and since then any program associated with Windows Live gave me lots of graphics artifacts and flashing black screens etc. Nothing to do with my machine as I get the same problem on my laptop.....I assumed it was merely a conspiracy to force people onto Facebook.

Ach fuckizt...I only paid a fiver for the game and I can very easily bootleg the bitch.

For the record.

By creating an offline 'Games for Windows' account and using that instead of an online one, I solved my problems. I am also now using a noDVD crack which may also have something to do the remedy.

We were right.

Glad you got it sorted and hope you enjoy the game.

I stopped playing this stupid game because i can't stuff stupid little sister into the wall vent. I get two options and whatever i press, nothing happens. Asked on their forums and no one bothered to answer. Lame.

Yes...I am coming across some major key-bind issues.

If you just leave the keys alone as default (impossible I know, default binds are fkn horrible), then u dont get no problems, if you dare to change your keys then you come across all kinds of issues. I think a lot of the bind settings are tied up with Games for Windows, and we all know what a annoying DRM p.o.s. that is.

Absolute fkn amateur $hit from the devs (still not fixed at patch 1.4) and I have alread lost 2-3 hours of my time just trying to sort this crap out (which I hope I now have).....this is not how things should be and for any other product, it would warrant a full refund.....not so in the world of DRM mad video gaming.

However, the game itself does seem pretty fantastic.
