Biostar motherboard and cpu voltage

I've recently upgraded to a Core2 system and I'm using a Biostar TP45-HP mobo.
What I've noticed is the vcore is set to auto with only options to increase volts in increments (and no decreasing or to set specific volts)

So far, I've OC'd my cpu to 3ghz and the vcore runs at 1.39v, I tried going up to 3.3ghz and I saw the vcore shoot up to 1.45v.


Anyone with ideas or experience with this?

PS The bios I'm using seems to be the only BIOS available.

I can't find a way to use a lower vcore. The auto already sets it higher than necessary and the only other option is to add volts.
 
So you want lower volts than stock then ?
 
biostar is like that unfortunately. It's the same on my board, compared to most other boards their range of voltages is shocking. Like my RAM voltages only have 5 settings.

I would prefer the cpu to run at a decent vcore at a modest OC. I reckon the system can easily run at 1.3-1.35v and in turn generate less heat.
 
I had the same board for a short while. Same complaint, which is why I sold it quickly. It was hard to make subtle changes. If you want a board with more flexibility, I'd stick with DFI or Asus.
 
Just set your bios back to stock settings....Then change your voltage to manual...Then you can just add what voltage you need from there as you overclock!!

Right, but the increments on that board are larger than I like. Hard to make subtle vcore changes.
