BluRay Audio Problem

I'm running Dolby PLII instead.
Tired of fighting it. Still sounds OK.

Waste of a receiver. Prologic on movie titles that potentially support 5 channels? You must be kidding me!

What receiver are you using?

And prologic isn't real surround. You are sending a stereo signal to your reciever, and it's faking the surround output. You're screwing yourself out of the bluray's surround recordings.

So I gave my son my Creative XFi and put a Rocketfish 5.1 card in my other machine and used the optical out and everything works fine with the Dolby Digital. One question though if any one can give me an answer. Do I just leave the settings set on stereo and let the the Receiver do the decoding and separation ? Seems to sound Great and good separation. I actually had to tone down the Sub because it had so much bass.

Uhh... if its set to stereo, you arent decoding anything, or getting any seperation done. you're just getting stereo.

sounds like you have it set to upmix on the receiver, to me.

Again, what receiver are you using, and what is trhe computer setup you are connecting to it. If you are outputing stereo on the optical, you are not getting real surround sound with discreet channels, you are getting a fake surround upmix. Pro Logic is not true surround sound.
