Hello,

I have a MSI A320M Gaming Pro (i know its a bad mobo)
and Ryzen 5 3600

I bought single stick of 16GB HyperX Fury 3200 MHz which failed to boot, i just returned it and bought a Corsair 1x16 3000 MHz(in official website of ram its says its compatible with my mobo)RAM. I tried this and it also fails to boot. My old Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB 2666 MHz boots perfectly but I couldn't get any of these RAMs to boot with my mobo. I dont want to return this RAM cause it really says its compatible with my mobo in Corsair's website. Should I clear CMOS after removing my old RAM? Should I enable XMP before removing the old RAM? My current RAM has a voltage value of 1.2, the new ram uses 1.35V so i dont know what to do really. AFAIK the mobo should adjust the voltage value itself. Could you help please ? (Btw dont tell me to buy dual channel because my other ram slot is covered in dust and wont work probably.)

Any ideas ?

Definitely try Clear CMOS before going any further. Post the exact model/part number of your Corsair RAM, too. Someone may have direct experience with it and have some ideas. It's also possible (though very unlikely) that you got two bad modules in a row. Is there anyone local to you that can test it?

Cmk16Gx4M1D3000C16 the ram module is this. The first ram module wasn't bad. I got it checked out before returning it. I have no idea about the second one. When should i clear CMOS? After removing my working? After installing the new RAM?

Specs for your motherboard say support is second gen Ryzen with a 2019 BIOS date for the latest.

Looks like you have Corsair Vengeance LPX, which someone claimed here on the forums somewhere doesn't always like Zen, but I couldn't corroborate that via a quick Google search. You can clear CMOS at any time while the computer is off, by either removing the battery or shorting JBAT1 on your MB for ~5s. You can also load BIOS defaults by pressing F6 while in BIOS (you'll naturally need to do this with your Crucial memory installed). If it still doesn't work, there's probably either a compatibility issue or something wrong with the module.

What BIOS are you running? According to MSI's website, your board is compatible with the 3600 as of version 1K.

Thanks for the answers, you are being really helpful. The CPU isn't really a problem since It's working perfectly. I misunderstood something about CPU compability. I'm running the latest BIOS released (7A39v1KQ(Beta version). I'm going to try reinstalling the Corsair module after loading default settings via BIOS tomorrow. But I realized that in A320M Gaming Pro's detail sheet MSI states the mobo is compatible with 2666 MHz ram even though it says its compatible up to 3200MHz in Specs tab. According to further investigation the 3200MHz part comes from B350 Gaming Pro which I find extremely ridiculous. But even if my mobo supports maximum of 2666 MHz it should still boot with 3000MHz RAM by downgrading its frequency. Bought this mobo a long time ago due to tight budget and I really regret that decision whenever I try to do adjust something in my PC.
