Hi!

I have a Buffalo `WHR-G300N V2` WLAN router and first day i got it i installed DD-WRT on it.

Several days now i had experienced network problems:
Connection to internet didnt work all the sudden for a moment thru network cable connection.

Decided to try tomato on it even though tomato firmware was not reported as confirmed compatible.
I used the web menu for the router to flash to tomato but after it the routers diagnose led just blinks and doesnt work.

Have a guide how to flash it with TFTP in ubuntu to original firmware but i have a question:
In the guide it says to set the routers ip address but it is not 192.168.1.1 anymore like it was with DD-WRT before the tomato flash gone bad.
I used ipconfig in windows and does the DNS Server mean the ip address of the router?
The PC was connected to LAN port of the router and router WAN not connected...

That's weird, your router's dhcp must be down: it failed to deliver a proper private IP address to your computer. Additionnaly there's no gateway, your router must be in a intermediate state where it's deaf.

According with whois, those dns adresses are provided by your ISP :
192.89.123.26
193.210.18.18

It's most probably your local DNS client showing the last known dns addresses it's been in touch with. Name resolution alone is of no use until a proper ip address as been automatically obtained or manually set, so you might as well do an "ipconfig /flushdns" followed by an "ipconfig /renew".

If i were you, at that point, i'd install wireshark, reset the router and watch all traffic bound to your network card, trying to figure who's who, etc...

It seems like the router doesnt have default gateway address anymore.. I got a 30€ paperweight.. How is it possible that my LAN card does have an IP without default gateway?

That IP address is the default IP address that windows will issue itself if it doesn't get a DHCP lease.

ok gj your router is bricked next time don't make assumptions about compatibility if its not listed you will brick it
good news is because you where running ddwrt before boot-wait is enabled on the cfe ..

first thing to try is a 30/30/30 reset meaning you hold the reset button down for 30 seconds, unplug it continue holding for another 30 seconds, replug it continue holding for another 30 seconds for a total of 90 before releasing the reset button
second step you will need the factory linksys firmware for your router and a TFTP utility
next you need to configure your computer for a static ip address of 192.168.1.2 and a gateway of 192.168.1.1 you need to disconnect all other devices from the router and connect the router directly to the computer using port1 on the router
now power the router on and quickly enter the TFTP command you only have about 3 to 5 seconds todo so be-ready! I recomend keeping a second command window open with the command pre-keyed in so all you need todo is strike enter
if it doesn't work or retry it can take upwards of 10 tries to get a successful flash make sure you power down before every retry you only get one shot at every boot attempt before the cfe kicks the main firmware package over and it locks up

if it still doesn't work then you will need to use the ARP command to manually add the router's mac to the routing table
the command for that is
arp -s 192.168.1.1 aa-bb-cc-dd-ee-ff < replace this last part with the mac address found on the bottom of the router
and retry ...
if that still doesn't work then congrads you have permabricked it and the only way to fix that is with a JTAG cable
