Building Again, HELP !!!!!!!!!

OK, I need some help.
My puter is working fine but need more memory, anyway I just got a call from a friend and she said she wants me to build her a puter. She was talking about buying from a store at first but changed her mind. She's working with a $800 budget so I'd like to hear some ideas from everyone about what she can get.

She likes to get on here to chat and play the pogo games and is playing Hellgate on my puter so she'll probably want to play it on hers after I get it and put it together.

She already has a 250gb HDD so that's not needed, don't need monitor - keyboard or mouse either

np... if you can go a little over 800 you will have a vary nice rig for her. :toast:

i guess since its only 584.99 you could use that extra cash and up the video card a bit or something. unless she doesnt want to spend anymore

thats probably what i would go with to
you can get a WD or samsung 500 gb hd (i own from both companies) for about a $100 bucks also avalable at newegg
 
You could up the HD 3870 to an 8800GT an additional 50 or 60 bucks. From what I've seen the 8800GT tends to grab you a higher FPS than the HD 3870 when it comes to gaming. As for the processor, if she is willing to go a bit over you could bump it up to a Core 2 Quad Q6600. As far as my opinion goes, upping the video card would be the better decision possibly. Keep in mind, I'm on a mind set that she would be willing to spend that whole $800 or possibly more. If that isn't the case then just ignore me completely.
 
Well thanx for the help everyone, I almost had a shopping list to get this build but she had to call and say she now wants 3 hd in it and wants to use the ancient voodoo3 card I gave her and now her budget went up to 900 bucks. I haven't even ordered anything yet and she wants to know when it'll be running.
 
You could always buy two kits of those G.Skill RAM for 4x1GB for only $80, along with maybe a slightly more powerful CPU?

wtf? shes raiding 3 hdd and then wants to use the voodoo???????????

if you are a friend then stop letting her make these choices, teach her why it makes no sense to do what shes asking.

Talked with her lastnight and just flat-out said it wont work then said I'm gonna only put the 250gb hdd that she has in.
