The next step in my PC's build is a tunner card. Im looking for a mid ranged card with input slots but i can do without them. I have never done anything with tuner cards so im not sure what is a good buy. Also with my current system is it even worth it to buy a tuner card?

When you say tuner card, I'm guessing that you mean TV tuner?

I couldn't recommend a specific one as I'm not one for researching tuner cards, but I'd make sure that it you buy one with plenty of driver support. Make sure it supports XP 32bit/64 bit and Vista 32 bit/64 bit. I made the a mistake of buying a USB tuner a few years ago and its Vista drivers were non-existent.

You have a good system but are you just going to be watching TV on your PC or/and capturing video?

If your going to do both I'd recommend not going cheap and pickup a TV Tuner card with the 650 chip, above and beyond alot of tuner cards out there with capture quality. Here's some you can look at using the 650 chip:
Visiontek(PCI): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815129004
Visiontek(PCI-E): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815129006
Diamond(PCI): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815306005
Diamond(PCI-E): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815306018

If your just going to watch some Tube then pretty much any tuner card on the market would be fine for that since HD is still buggy with alot of them.

Yes, something with the ATI 650 chip would be good, but the actual quality of the tuner is what is important, not the chipset's. In that respect most Compro's are good, some Leadtek's are also good.

ATI has a new chipset, the 750, it would be the creme de la creme. But it needs to be coupled with a good tuner to get the best picture. Check out the news section on TPU, if you're interested in the features.
