Hows's it hangin lads!

Just wondering here, I loved using the laptop integrated graphics for every day use and then dedicated graphics for some gaming!

Can this be done with a desktop now???

Cheers lads ^^

Not without unplugging your monitor and plugging it into the one you want to use

I think I've read somewhere that DX12 will make it possible to use both. Don't quote me on that since the last few days I'm so tired I don't know what is real anymore. I might have read it somewhere or my mind just made it up.

I read that as well but i forgot the name of the article. I found it on google last night when i was at work. In fact it was stating you could use a dedicated video card and integrated gpu to improve gaming performance.

That will be interesting to see.

Virtu MVP was an effort to do exactly that, but it looks like they've quit.

Why would you want to do this on a desktop? They do it on laptops to save power because every watt counts, but saving 5w on a desktop doesn't seem worth the hassle.

They got their own driver, so yes you can. And you're using Win8.1, easy-peasy as it can detect and remembers your monitor/ screen switching. Just make sure to set the dedicated graphics as the primary monitor, games always set to use monitor number one and thus the graphics chip controlling it. If you're connecting both integrated and dedicated graphics to a single monitor, it's a bit of a hassle to always have to switch the input source (but working and gaming shouldn't be easy to switch eh? LOL). If your monitor only have one input then better not do it 'cause you'll need to unplug and plug the cable all the time. If you got money, buy another monitor and connect your two monitors to integrated and dedicated graphics each, boom, double screens for work, no hassle on switching monitors, if you want to game just launch it and play. You can even work while playing! JK ;P

Cheers, mate.

Thanks lads, it would seem that perhaps it's best to not bother doing this ^^
Maybe if I really need to in the future but I really doubt that :P

Thanks for the comments lads.
