Tryng to put together a super cheap temporary system from used parts and this gigabyte Z690 aorus elite D4 being listed for dirt cheap. From the LGA1700 pinout image the _MA15/DDR and two VSS pins are broken. Would this mobo be salvageable or i shouldnt even bother. The broken pins are 23 AW and AV and 22 AV.

In general VSS pins doesn't matter (there's many of them in parallel), just make sure they aren't shorting to any surrounding pins. But the MA15/DDR will mean one memory channel will not work unless repaired.

I say, try it and see. What have you got to lose?

But first, as r00tcz says, straighten any bent pins to ensure no shorts. That should ensure no collateral damage to the CPU, etc., should it not work correctly. And from here, with these eyes, it looks like there is some sort of foreign object or debris in the lower part of that damaged area. Make sure there is none.

Good luck.

or you can have the socket replaced by a technician with a hot air station and steady hands, the socket is just dirt cheap..

Personally I would not get that board.

It would help when you specify what that _MA15/DDR does.

low quality ai

About _MA15:

  • Likely stands for Memory Address line 15.
  • Used in communication between the CPU and RAM.

Dirt cheap. Its fkn broken. Not worth it.

That is the only thing shown in the lga1700 pinout image. I tried getting the pinout.xlsx from the pdf that says the full name of the pin and not cut off but its unobtanium. Thanks for the anwers. The mobo is dead as no memory can be used.
