can virus make physical components go wrong? can it make cpu make loud noise?

suddenly my system have loud noise. as i exam.. its coming from the cpu heatsink/fan. it sound really loud when startup and still loud afterward but lower but still loud.

i said in another thread that it dont seems to cause prerformance issue but i was wrong. i notice that my system is slow. when i move my mouse.. at certain time my mouse will just pause and dont move when i move my mouse. also someties my mouse disapear when i move my mouse around then it automatically click itself... say i point to somewhere and it click itself while the cursor disapear. it only happend certain time but not big deal.

still... i am wondering if virus can cause component issues..... ?

also when i open/close apps it takes long too. apps like cd burner and video editing.

In theory, of course. A virus is just a piece of software, software can change fan/clock speeds. I don't know of any that do though. I'd say dirty fan or disabled fan control.

Dust in your fan, lack of bearing lubrication - could even be capacitor squeal.

i already clean the heatsink/fan with some q tips. the sound wont reduce.

i also notice slow in performance. i am afraid it could be virus thats behind this.

whats capcity squeal?

its not neccessarily a virus... most probably some software is utilizing all your cpu power.... check to see what programs run in the background to identify which one is causing the problem. btw, it could also be a service, started by a program. Check them too!

for example some indexing or software monitor programs start a service that runs in the background, during idle, and usually are responsible for such behaviours. You see, if the cpu fan is temperature-depended and ups or downs revs/minute according to cpu load, is probably the reason for the noisy fan!

Are you temps still normal.
'Cause it sounds as if, either, the fan is going, the TIM is not doing it's job or the cooler may be not seated properly and the CPU is clocking itself down.

EDIT:Fan would be my first guess...

Yeah, I had had the same issue with my Thermaltake heatsink; the bearings on the fan just gave up after a few months and it started making a horrendous whirring/snoring noise, like a screaming ogre or something. :\
I replaced the fan, now I have a nice high-airflow fan cooling it. Never buying anything Thermaltake ever again though, as the HS design was also shoddy as well (does the job though)...

Virus can cause noise? How? It will either crash one core in the thread scheduler or it will put it at high utilisation. Result? Heat. Fan. Noise.

Note that fan bearings do wear over time. Often a noisy cooler is solved by replacing the fan.

IF you are going to replace the fan, think about upgrading the whole cooler/fan to something more suitable to the summer weather.

Yeah, might want to actually take the cooler off, clean the themal paste and replace it. Thermal paste can go bad with time. Also once you actually take the cooler off you can clean it much better than when it's latched down on the CPU.

If you think you have a virus try Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware. If the mouse is clicking by itself it can only mean one thing--your computer is being controlled remotely. OR, you just THINK the mouse is clicking by itself because you clicked and it didn't register fast enough, and it did finally register when you moved your mouse over something.

Laggy mouse can come from:

1./ HDD interrupts "stealing" control. Do you have a faulty HDD? Or an unusually fragmented system file? User ccleaner and a defrag
2./ A mouse dying. Try another. I have had 2 in the last 6 years do this... and it was the LAST thing I checked... after doing all sorts of other replacements... intermittant mouse issues are the hardest to find UNLESS you substitute the mouse for a few days to find out
3./ Crashed GDI resources. The mouse cursor is hardware controlled and if the GPU drivers are faulty that can cause issues
4./ Or anything that "steals" explorer.exe like a crashed thread or virus. Check your taskmanager to ensure your CPU utilisation is 0%
5./ I have also had a faulty USB port once. Try swapping ports... or making sure too many devices like keysticks, keyboards etc. arent all dangliing off the same USB power source.
