Following from the news of Windows 11 requirements, I wanted to make sure my system is compatible and booting with the required settings for a simple in place upgrade as soon as the new Windows arrives. On checking my exiting Windows 10 set up using system information, I found several problems. Namely my boot mode was legacy instead of EUFI required for Windows 11 and TPM is not active despite my motherboard definitely having it. Also, not sure if it is relevant but it says that secure boot is not supported and under device encryption support it says "reasons for failed automatic device encryption: TPM is not usable, PCR97 binding is not supported, Hardware Security Test Interface failed and the device is not modern standby, unallowed DMA bus/devices detected, TPM is not usable."
I initially followed a guide on Youtube to allow a legacy install to be converted to EUFI by converting the file system over to GPT, it's this one: The process seemed to complete ok while I was still in Windows, but when I went into the BIOS to change the setting to disable legacy boot I found that Windows just flat out wouldn't boot in this mode. I get the motherboard ASROCK logo (no loading wheel) for about a second or two, then it reboots and just carries on in a loop.
I had a USB drive prepared with the Windows 10 installer on in case of problems BUT this wouldn't boot either, I can see it accessing the USB for maybe 20-30 seconds while the motherboard logo is displayed (again no loading wheel), but again it seems to hit something it doesn't like and reboots the system and this just loops unless I stop it.
I cannot seem to boot anything from the BIOS in EUFI/non-legacy mode, it almost seems the system is unstable in such a mode, or else I have conflicting settings or there is a device in my system that is incompatible, but I have tried disconnecting every internal drive apart from the NVME boot drive. I did leave USB devices such as the printer connected but would be surprised if they were responsible?
To get a working system I was forced to switch it back to legacy mode and fresh install Windows 10 (I could not recover the previous install). Though it's working just as well as it ever did (touch wood) I really don't want a legacy install, as I know it will lock me out of the free Windows 11 upgrade and I like the ability to use EUFI features such as rebooting into BIOS, added security and the ability to use fast boot mode.

32GB DDR4 at 2400MHZ (2x 16GB)
ASROCK AB350M Motherboard (BIOS Version P4.60)
MSI Nvidia Geforce 1660 Super 6GB GDDR6
512GB M.2 NVME SSD
