Can't make up my mind; build for fun (Dual CPU build): Intel Xeon E5-2697 v2 or E5-2690 v2

It's basically a choice between extra cores versus speedier base & better all-core turboing. I'll be mostly using Folding@Home & BOINC mixed with some backup data storage. Total cores 20C/40T vs 24C/48T.

For Crunching I'd go for more cores, as both are basically clocked the same +/- 100MHz the E5-2697 V2 has more Cache too.
Base speed is only relative when it's idle they both have the same TDP.

Go big. After having a dual 2680v2 the extra cores help with crunching and whatnot.
